With the new CBA your drafting and development will become even more important. I think you will see more teams cutting ties with their current AHL teams and taking ownership of another team so to be more involved.

We saw that at the end of last season when the Stars cut ties with the Grizzles and in the fall the new AHL Dallas Stars will take the ice in Des Moines, Iowa. They have control of everything from management, scounting and coaching staff.

down in a hole
Isles did the same thing three years ago, launching the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL. Before that, their prospects were on 4 different teams, all playing a different system, none under the Isles' control. Not good for development. They bought the team this year so now it is TOTALLY under their control.

Another victim of the lockout? Looks like the Avs will wait until a new CBA to decide on where to send their farmhands.

Not sure if this is a repost

What farmhands?... they don't have prospects

From the looks of it, the Avs just gave up on drafting altogether. Maybe they'll just trade all their picks and just pick up players that way.
