On a strange day a strange even t happened...players were traded with two teams that were playing each other the same night. While that is no strange event, the fact that the players involved played for their original teams even though the deal was announced the day before. It's unheard of for such a thing to happen.

The deal sees Dwayne Roloson, Shawn Bates, Cliff Ronning and Sergei Zubov arrive in Chicago while Jocelyn Thibault, Stephen Weiss and Marc-Andre Bergeron depart for Buffalo. GM Dryden Lewis and Coach Dave Tippett were also seen planning a trip to the Crown Casino in Melbourne Australia with the $2 million dollars add in the deal. "What do you mean thats suppossed to cover salary?", said GM Lewis.

"I love this deal...it puts a serious stamp on our intent to be a serious playoff team. We got a very good experienced offensive d-man, a very strong goaltender who can carry the workload, a defensive C who can play the 3rd line and also put the puck in the net and a PP specialist who should improve an already potent PP. All this while giving up the top goalie in the west and d-man who has played very impressively in his rookie year by logging top minutes on the first line. For us Bergeron is the deal breaker and almost caused the deal to not be accepted...but we just felt with CBJ improving so much and the rest of the league right on our tails we had to do something to get us to the next level. Are we there only time will tell. Right now I've got some more contracts to look after and get in touch with Swingstein and set some time to meet with him. The only other thing we might be looking at is another RW...but who knows if there is any one available at this time. Other than that I think we're good for the playoffs and are anticipating a strong fight in the HFNHL's strongest division."

Now we get to see if there was some bizarre (voodoo) chemistry going on with those Hawks. With that big a change it could be good or very bad. See what happened to the Blues with a few tweaks to their roster.
