Gallagher & Price have already told Team Canada no. Too bad. I wanted them both there.

Drouin is under consideration, but hasn't been asked yet.

No news on any other players:

Lehkonen & Niemi - Finland

de la Rose - Sweden

Galchenyuk & Petry - USA (I can't imagine Pacioretty goes)

I don't see anyone else being considered.

I can actually see us having no participants.

Pretty sure galchenyuk and petry could make it, probably not petry but galchenyuk most likely if he wants to

Drouin probably will say something like I'm too god to go waste my time there
Galchenyuk I can see going
Petry will probably take the time off with all the extra ice time he had this year + I'm sure he would rather be home with his kid
Would be great experiences for DlR and Lehkonen if they were asked to go

Also long shot, but I really would not be surprised to see Ales Hemsky go!!! Now that would be something

I know Price has international pedigree, but in no way is he deserving of even going this year. I’m glad he’s staying home anyways. Gallagher needs to rest too. Imagine giving 110% for this garbage team.

According to Lavoie, Drouin will go if he's invited.

Depending on who goes, Canada could be stacked up front

Benn McDavid Seguin
Tavares Barzel Bailey
Hoffman Duchene Stone
Monahan Toews O'Reilly
Spooner, Skinner, Drouin

Would love to see Galchenyuk there. Playing with some better players should do wonders for him.

No Tavares almost assuredly as he is a UFA and won't risk it. Lots of great options though, no doubt. Hope Drouin gets the call.

.

i think it was a mutual no with Price,

i don't think team canada wants or needs him,

he is no better then what they have,

Price probably fears going there and embarrassing himself.....and the team

Huberdeau & Ekblad too since it looks like Fla will miss.

I can see Tavares decline because of his pending UFA situation.

But, McDavid & Barzal down the middle is a great start. I can see a guy like Horvat get consideration too.

IDK. According to Twitter, they asked & he said no.

Mike Smith, Devan Dubnyk & Corey Crawford have to be the favorites now.

he gonna probable finish the years with 40 pts .. last years they had Trevor Van Riemsdyk and Danny Dekeyser so no way that if Petry want to play he don't gonna have a place for him in the team

Is Crawford back? Wasn't he struggling with some off-ice issues and decided to take the season off?

Wild are making the playoffs, so I can't see how Dubnyk will be there.

Only Mike Smith left and he wasn't exactly lightning the league on fire for Calgary.

Smith had to be one of the favorites for the Vezina after 40 or so games. He had a slump, got injured and has been terrible since. Like Dallas with Bishop's injury, he was likely brought back too soon because Gillies and Riddich were losing almost every game.

TC is going to have get lucky to have some quality in goal.

He actually went in 2013 during his rookie year, he ended up scoring in the shootout TWICE to clinch the bronze for USA, i believe he led the world in hockey games played that year or something with the ohl, nhl preseason, nhl season, nhl playoffs, wjc, wc

That year as a 18 yr old:
WJC Gold
WC Bronze

I think he goes back this year, good a year as any, and no wonky knee

Minny is playing Winnipeg in the 1st round, so he'll be available. :D

Didn't know about the Crawford situation & agree on Mike Smith, but who else is there? Roberto Luongo?

Fleury if LV goes out in round one too. James Reimer? Jonathan Bernier maybe.

Not exactly a stellar class for goaltending. Our offense is going to be so good though it probably won't matter.

De La Rose was decent as a junior, his development has been a bit disappointing. He has an interesting background, his ancestors came to Sweden in the early 17th century from what is now the French speaking area of Belgium (Wallonia). They were offered land and work because they were known as expert ironworkers and blacksmiths., basically artisans and apart from hockey D-men Sweden has a lot of iron ore and timber. They had a great success story in Sweden and there are well known names like De Geer, Dubois, Hubinet etc. My best friend when I grew up had ancestors from there, his family's name originally was De La Roos but they took off the the De La and became Roos.

I think it would be good for Drouin to get out of Montreal and play meaningful hockey. A big tourny would go a long way towards getting his confidence up for next year.
