Evans went to the NCAA at 18, so at 21 he's at the average age for an NCAA player.

For those who don't understand French: Evans says that Habs drafted him and kept following up on him, so it was obvious that he would sign with them. He said he doesn't know what to expect, but his goal is to make the NHL. And if he has to go through Laval to get there, he won't see that as a negative.



He says that he's a complete player, plays a 200-foot game. He likes taking important face-offs and is a competitor. He wants to win.

Every prospect is a gamble—outside of Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux and a few other guys.

Evans might add value as organizational depth, a trade component or possibly a NHL third-line center. Anything better than that would be a bonus.
