4:1 for Finland.

Sounds like a reasonable expectation. The tournament is growing old, and Team Finland as well. Hard to imagine situation they would manage to suck this up anymore by wrong attitude or bad preparations. Thought that wouldn't be miracle. Team Finland's internal functioning remain rather ghostly apparition when it comes to their bio-moods and performances.

Good move, Säteri needs a break. I hope that 3rd and 4th line get to play more even minutes now. Aho should catch some rest for the game against USA.

Which Finland will show up?, the one that lost to Denmark or the one that won Canada.
- no one can possibly know for sure

One could argue that Finland learned from loss to Denmark,but...because Marjamäki...
anything / everything can and will happen.

4-1 W
5-1 W
6-1 W

3-2 L
3-1-L
4-1 L

Either of those results may occur, because that's Marjamäki hockey for ya.

Marjamäki has never had this much offense but when he does the narrative is that the team will not be ready because of him, never about how the players were arrogant etc.

It's clear that if Marjamäki wins gold in this WHC it's because of the players in the eyes of many.

I don't entirely get that media talk and "outrage" Tolvanen is "still" (after one game) placed in 3rd line.

Is that exactly where he should be? Is it better we have 3 scoring lines than stick with top heavy approach of 2 lines?

There are teams coming against us that can match up Team Finland's two top lines with their better roster depth. Everything that can remedy that disparity sounds a rational plan to me considering top two lines are already proven to be able to produce in complements as they are.

Lol you wish. The world cup was such a clear miss tournament if you ever watched ANY NHL.
D consisting of Jokipakka, Lepistö, Lindell, Määttä, Pokka, Ristolainen, Vatanen. And the forwards were Aho, Barkov, Donskoi, Filppula, Granlund, Haula, Jokinen, Koivu, Komarov, Korpikoski, Laine, Lehterä, Teräväinen.
Also, it wasn't like our offense had a tremendous talent like 2018 Rantanen or Aho. Nobody had a fantastic season points-wise. Every other country had a ppg talent* on their roster and hell of a lot better D-men to boot.

That group shouldn't and didn't challenge better teams at all. Sweden breezed past us easily, just as the Russians and the NA team. They simply had better rosters and I wasn't surprised at all that we got dominated as badly as we did.
Many rushes start with the defensemen, and we simply didn't have good ones for that tournament. You also have to remember that this tourney was in 2016, Laine wasn't in the NHL, wasn't ready to these games, we simply had a team of 3-4 liners sprinkled with some 1st line talent. Arguably there were no #1 defensemen on this team either.

There was no offense because the opposition's D was just too good compared to our forward's abilities to do anything against them, which was evident even against the worst D of the group when we played against Russia. End of story. The coach can't do shit in that position.

I never want to hear World Cup again as a narrative against Marjamäki.

*oh.. Well they're certainly PPG talents now. 15-16 was a low scoring year but the firepower for Finland certainly wasn't there compared to pretty much every other team except the Czechs.

Germany has looked all-around demoralized after the first game's loss to Denmark. Prior to the tournament I would have expected a closer game but now something like 5:1 or 6:1 to Finland would seem realistic.

Germany has troubles scoring goals and Finland ran over Canada last night, this could turn ugly if Treutle doesn't stand on his head. Come on, Germany!

Some people think it's not just coincidence that he has a historically terrible coaching record with the team.
