The Tiger Williams photograph pisses me off, because it's his most famous one.

It belongs on another thread. Or else this thread may be near dead.

(Could someone post it on this thread, rather than another accessible "famous" one without be simply flipping the bird at the idea of this thread? Possibly, but in this case, I think not.)

When I got your PM I thought you were joking, apparently not. Too bad that the other 350+ photos that I posted in this thread got lost in the shuffle because of the "Williams photo". Is this kindergarten or what?

But fine VanIslander. I did not realize that you were so serious about this. I am here to enjoy myself, going down memory lane.

Just for the record VanIslander, # 19, # 44, # 119, # 121, # 137 that you posted, are wellknown photos, but they still have a place in this thread. Anyway have fun, and keep it going.

Those are amazing photos! The one of Orr on the bench is so cool. Looks like he wanted to get back out there in the worst way and go fix something! The one of Gordie Howe in the dressing room shows how intimidating he was. Tough customer!

^^^ Very interesting..... I have no memory of the Caps using white or off-white pants in their 1st season (more than old enough to have remembered).... and that picture of Hull above, the Jets jersey appears to have a satiny (sheen) like quality to the blue shoulder flashings & logo, something not seen in later versions of Winnipeg's uniforms that I recall. Quite like that... and note as well Hull's stick, appears "un-branded". No-name, yet he did use Northland's while with Chicago. Somethings up with that, some bit of trivia I'm unaware of. :squint:
I think the Caps only wore those white pants for preseason - but I could be wrong....

Is that Jack McIlhargy Tiger is tangling with ? I believe it is...

Yep. Jack wearing 29 throughout his career, a number that would eventually become more associated & iconic to Goaltenders with Ken Dryden's arrival.... And great collection of seldom seen Sabres shots, the Knox's, George Imlach etc. Highly entertaining club through its formative years of the 70's, followed fairly closely by a lot of us in Toronto & SW Ontario for obvious reasons. Nice to see theyve finally found themselves beyond solid ownership as that period late 90's on between the Knox reign & Terry Pegula... bit touch n' go.

These are just beautiful photographs, wonderfully composed.

That shot of Magnuson wouldn't look out of place in an art gallery.

Ya, many of them absolutely outstanding & that shot of Keith Magnuson in particular heartbreaking taken in the total context of his life & career with Chicago who came "oh so close", and just a great player that he was... you could palpably still see the child in him as you can in many other players at times, that their 14 forever and I mean that most respectfully... his then tragic & premature death years later, well, that photo just sort of captures it all. Really rather breathtaking. Poignant.
