Yeah, nice one. We can spot Joe Malone (43 goals in 20 games) front and center, but does anyone know who is Tommy Smith, who himself had 39 goals in 20 matches? Matching with the Wiki picture of him, I'm guessing he's front-row, 2nd-left...

I would say that he's front row, 1st left.
Front row, 2nd left, isn't that Russell Crawford?

Why are the Vancouver Canuks doing this ice dance in Bloomington, MN? Was this session performed prior to a game against the North Starrs? Is that Laura Stamm?

^^^ Great shot up there of Mohns & Armstrong DB.... and it reminded of something that used to strike me a bit when Doug Mohns was playing.... and that was what I thought was his uncanny physical resemblance to Eddie Shore.... Maybe I was off on that as a kid watching Mohns but having seen photo's of Old Poison struck me that Mohns was pretty darn close in physical appearance huh?. Bit less battle scarred, not quite as wiry but damn close. Bruin too.... Loved watching that guy (entire Bruins lineup during the late 50's & 60's despite their being doormats, very interesting teams). Mohns solid. Crafty, clever.

You're right about that Killion. There was a quite the resemblance between the two of them. Although more than a decade separated their time with the Bruins, it's not often that you find two players looking almost the same playing for the same franchise. But yeah, Shore was a bit more battle scarred than Mohns.

Both shots of Mohns are nice and sharp, although they have previously been posted in this thread # 752 and # 753. Turofsky photos?, maybe part of the Harold Barkley collection. In any case. These color photos from the 1960s are great, I like them a lot.

.... yeah, there we go, so I guess it wasnt just me seeing the resemblance... and as we sometimes feel gypped that we werent around to watch some of the Stars of the Game, before our time, kinda neat to see a guy like Mohns resembling Shore and in a Bruins jersey at that. Theres some others over the years as well. Vincent Lecavalier & Jean Beliveau for example.

Both in home uniforms? I wonder what that occasion was!

(The later pic of Doug Mohns and George Armstrong is probably in Boston. The TV crews used to make the visiting team wear the colored jerseys to provide contrast with the Bruins' home yellow, as that would look white on black-and-white tv sets.)

The early Canucks were owned my Medicor, company headquartered in Minneapolis-St Paul. Team picture was taken there so the Medicor suits could take part. The girl is likely a skater from the Ice Capades, also owned by Medicor.

Not that anyone cares, but I'm 95% sure this is from 1981-82. (It's after spring 1981 anyway, because of the Oilers' uniform.) 1981-82 was about the last time Kevin Lowe looked really young. He aged about 20 years in the next four seasons...

This particular image, issued on an 8 X 10 glossy the one that Bobby Orr gave out to personal friends, people with whom he'd done business, to those who had helped him out with various projects, charities, appearances & the like through the 80's, 90's & 00's.... I see as well that this one isnt signed "Best wishes to ________" or "Thanks _______ Good Luck" or whatever then his signature... personalized as most all of them are... including the one I received one Christmas from him many years ago....

Indeed, that looks like its signed Phil Esposito no?

Lots to comment on here... we see a bespectacled player, predating Al Arbour? What is the goalie wearing on his head? A catcher's mask over a towel?! And look at the position of his legs!!!! Either he just got badly faked out or he's broken that leg!!! How the heck....?
