Dian Renouf just beat up some guy on Manitoba. Double Dianed.

Edit: JC Lipon

Street scores! 2-1

Hronek fought Spacek, I think? Or wants to fight him? Either way, helmet and gloves are off.
Looks like that Spacek left the penalty box to fight Hronek or something? Must've been an interesting stoppage. Were you at the game or how did you watch it?

Lipon got what he deserved when Renouf took him out. Manitoba's game plan was to get the lead early and then take advantage of our shorthanded lineup at the forward position. Lipon tried to take out one of our forwards and Renouf stepped in.

On the Griffins pp goal, Cormier was cross checked by Tangradi and guys went after anybody after that. Then the Moose decided to jump on Puempel and Ford, but Puempel and his man got broken up right away. The linesmen put Spacek by his penalty area. Meanwhile, Hronek got hit from behind by Spacek and Hronek got mad and tried to get Spacek but the linesman got in between them. Ford then got a Moose player down on the ice (I believe the guy that Tangradi nailed. Got Ford off the ice for 10 minutes as well as Hronek. Will see if Spacek will get suspended for tomorrow night's game for leaving the penalty box area.

Brendan Lemieux tried to to bait Hronek in the 2nd period and threaten to sucker punch him while the linesman was in between the two players, but lucky for him he held back. Both got minors out of it. At the end of the game, the Griffins tried to challenge the Moose players, but they ran back to their goalie and away from the scene.

I got to sit right up front for this one. Missed calls on both ends. Especially high sticks. They have alot of weasels on that team doing petty and some not so petty stuff. Good game but I wanted to scream at Todd Nelson for pulling the goalie before the draw.

How was Cholowski?

Certainly not ready to be playing for the Red Wings next season. Nervous at the start. Made some good plays and made some bad plays. Needs more time to adjust to the pro game. A full season here in GR next season will help him a lot.

AHL is much different than in juniors and Dennis got his eyes wide open last night of what it takes to make the adjustment from juniors to pro.

Hronek was hilarious in the scuffle, from taking two guys at once to tapping the guy on the head from behind the ref.

That may be the case but I’d add that it’s been said about a lot of prospects the season before they make the jump. A summer in the gym and an NHL pre-season can make a big difference for the kids that figure things out quickly.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Manitoba Moose forward Michael Spacek has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of his actions in a playoff game at Grand Rapids on Apr. 25.
Spacek will miss Manitoba’s next three games beginning with Game 4 of the Central Division Semifinals, tonight (Apr. 26) at Grand Rapids.
(If Manitoba is eliminated before the suspension can be served to completion this postseason, remaining games would carry over to the next time Spacek is active on an AHL club roster.)

Saarijarvi in for Cholowski and Campbell in for Borkowski. Nelson said that whoever comes out of the Griffins tunnel first for warmups will be his starting netminder for tonight's game.

Coreau rightfully took the net back and I think McCollum knew that was gonna be his last hurrah when he got pulled on Wednesday night. After he went down the tunnel he swung his stick at the wall like he trying to chop down a red wood. Pure frustration and pressure of trying to make one last run as the starter but Coreau clearly is the better option and I have a hard time thinking he gives up the starting spot the rest of the way (if we win game 5 that is).

Side note: I know stupid penalties are a problem in this series but watching Coreau wreck a Moose player (didn't catch the name) and then stare him down after was pretty awesome. You could see he was playing with a different kind of energy last night.
