READ THE RULES.

And make sure you have your ROSTER & CAP INFO posted in the roster thread!

Commissioners

Game Schedule
  • Entry Draft First Round: Sunday, May 27th
  • Entry Draft Rounds 2-4: Monday, May 28th
  • Free Agency: Monday, May 28th

Salary Cap
  • CAPFRIENDLY IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL CAP INFO.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2018-2019 season is $80M.
  • The salary cap minimum for the 2018-2019 season is $59M.
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap during the season and by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the end of the game.
  • Teams may sign their draft picks to contracts using the ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT CHART.

Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $900k of their cap hit. Use the Buyout Calculator.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the NHL standings at the end of the 2017/18 season.
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Teams are permitted to use a maximum of TWO ordinary buyouts.
  • Buyout Calculator

Trades
  • All trades must be sent to @Joel Ward and @The Instigator or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any moves we deem to be ridiculous.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player(s) to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH JW and The Instigator prior to posting. Keep in mind that many NTCs or NMCs will NOT be waived.
  • A proactive approach for clause waives is encouraged - if you're not sure if a player will waive for a specific team - ASK! You can likely expect a response within a day, if not much sooner.
  • The commissioners will provide a 5 to 8-team no-trade list for players with an unspecified "limited NTC" upon request.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • Vetoed deals must be significantly altered in order for them to be accepted.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC will still be valid with their new team.
  • Players retain no-trade protection after being traded unless said clause was not already active at the time of the trade.

Offer Sheets and Non-tenders

  • All RFAs will be tendered a contract unless specified by their GM.
  • Offer Sheet Calculator.
  • Teams are only permitted to use their own original selections as compensation for offer sheets.

Come one, come all. Dump your trash contracts on me so you can afford Carlson/Tavares.

Also selling off everyone over the age of 23;

Lee - 1st, 2 2nds

Eberle - 1st, 2nd

Leddy - 2 1sts

Nelson - Low 1st/High 2nd

Tavares Rights - 2nd

De Hann Rights - 4th

Ladd, Cizikas, Clutterbuck, Boychuck, Griess - Free to a good home

These are just guide lines, I’ll likely deal them all (maybe not Leddy) to the best offer or the first person

Why not start with a blockbuster...

:habs ACQUIRE DRAISAITL

The Montreal Canadiens have traded forward Nikita Scherbak, defenseman Noah Juulsen and their 2018 first round pick (3rd overall) to the Edmonton Oilers for forward Leon Draisaitl.

This move could very well be the biggest of our offseason and we were happy to be able to get it done early. We gave up three very solid assets in the trade, players that we would have liked to keep for our future. However, we strongly believe that Draisaitl is the key player we were looking for. He is a big and young top line center, something we didn't have since many (MANY) years. With Drouin and Gallagher, among others, he is the guy we want to build our offense around for now and the future.

:habs UPDATE

Charlie Lindgren appears to be the next one to go, taking final offers now.

We have an offer we like for Max Pacioretty (two top prospects, former first round picks). With that being said, if a team send me an offer in the next hours with a young LHD with high potential as the centerpiece, we may be able to get something done. Also still open to other options as long as the value is there.

Paul Byron will go for a high pick or great prospect. Some discussions so far but nothing imminent.

Alex Galchenyuk may still be in play but we will wait for another trade to happen before. If so, we would be looking for a young natural top 6 winger.

Andrew Shaw, Michael McCarron, David Schlemko and Jordie Benn remain in play.

Brendan Gallagher is now joining Price, Weber, Drouin and of course Draisaitl in the « close to untouchable » list.

If you're an Eastern Conference GM you can start sending in offers for your Restricted Free Agents (RFAs). I'll strive to get back to you within 24 hours. It will probably be sooner.

Make sure you specify whether you're offering a one- or two-way contract; the annual $ amount, and the number of years.

You can calculate what the qualifying offer is be for each of your RFAs using CapFriendly. Follow the link: Qualifying Offer Calculator - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Listening to offers on Dougie Hamilton but it will take a great offer built around either a high end RW or C for me to move him.

TJ Brodie/Travis Hamonic available in a deal for a top 6 RW or possibly a C.

Michael Stone available for pick(s).

Sam Bennett could be moved in a package for a top 6 RW or straight up for a player in a similar position in their career.

Troy Brouwer/Michal Frolik available.

Prospects such as Adam Fox, Rasmus Anderson and Oliver Kylington could be moved.

Confirms.

It is heartbreaking to lose Drai, but some slug on this roster is chewing up $12.5M in cap space so sacrifices had to be made.

We didn’t get the offensive Dman we were hoping for but we still got a promising one.

Scherbak should fit in well with the direction we want to take this team.

Oh, and we heard it might be possible to get a line mate for our slug with that #3 overall pick.

Colorado is open to dealing their first round pick and will also field offers on Semyon Varlamov and defensemen Tyson Barrie and Erik Johnson.

We are looking to build around the current core and get younger where we can. PM me with any ideas!

ICYMI: Caps have Grubauer available. Would consider dealing Holtby instead, but it'll be tougher. Orpik available for free. Burakovsky for picks/prospects/cheap depth.

Dammit your name threw me off. Trade negotiations were tough but I’m glad we worked out a deal.
