Well this is a weird one. :amazed:

from cbssports.com:

Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio was involved in a strange incident Thursday.

According to a report from the Buffalo News, Kouandjio was found by police in a field, partially clothed, having hopped an electric fence. When found, per the report, Kouandjio asked police to shoot him.

Police were not initially aware of Kouandjio's identity, the source said. When the player's vehicle was found abandoned, a search was conducted and Bills gear was discovered, according to the source. A check of the license showed the vehicle was registered to Kouandjio.

The source said that police suspected Kouandjio pulled off Route 400 when he saw the flashing lights from police and emergency vehicles on the scene of the accident, and then went into the field on foot.

Kouandjio, who was Buffalo's second-round pick in 2014 and has started seven games over the past three seasons, missed Thursday's minicamp session due to the incident.

As for the Bills, they gave the following statement: "We are aware of the matter involving Cyrus and are carefully monitoring his condition and gathering more information. We don't have all of the details, so we won't have any further comment at this time."

Per the News report, Kouandjio was taken to an area hospital for observation.

Maybe I am missing something, but I do not understand what the accident the report is talking about it? Did he see an accident, then veer off into a field and run away on foot? Or was he the cause of the accident, then ran away?

The wording in that is bizarre.

The source said that police suspected Kouandjio pulled off Route 400 when he saw the flashing lights from police and emergency vehicles on the scene of the accident, and then went into the field on foot.

So he wasn't involved in the accident, which would explain disorientation and odd behavior.

I don't want to speculate as to what, but sounds a bit paranoid. Bet they're doing a 72 hour eval on him along with drug testing.

Three Illinois football players have been arrested on charges of home invasion and armed robbery.

Darta Lee, Zarrian Holcombe and Howard Watkins were booked Wednesday at the Champaign County Jail, according to online records. All three were arrested in connection with an alleged incident at Bromley Hall, a university dormitory. Online jail records show both Lee and Holcombe list Bromley Hall as their address.

The incident was reported to police at 3:21 a.m. Wednesday, according to Champaign police spokeswoman LaEisha Meaderds.

The players are set to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. CT Thursday at the Champaign County courthouse. Lee was booked at 6:27 a.m. CT Wednesday, Holcombe at 10:22 a.m., and Watkins at 10:58 a.m.

Police told the News-Gazette newspaper in Champaign, Ill., that the players donned masks and, armed with what police say was a fake gun, allegedly entered an apartment in the dorm. The resident recognized one of the players' voices and pulled off the player's mask. Police said the victim tried to make light of the situation, when one of the other players allegedly brandished the fake gun and demanded cash.

The players left the dorm with an undisclosed amount of money.

"Darta Lee and Zarrian Holcombe were already suspended from team activities for violations of team rules, and will remain suspended. Howard Watkins has been suspended indefinitely from team activities," coach Lovie Smith said in a statement.

"These allegations, if true, fail to live up to the standards we expect of our student-athletes. We continue to gather information and will take appropriate steps based upon what we learn."

Add them to list of worlds dumbest criminals if true

Tajae Sharpe and Sebastian Tretola accused of assault.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...used-of-draft-night-assault-of-nashville-man/

Tennessee Titans receiver Tajae Sharpe and guard Sebastian Tretola are the targets of a civil suit led by a Nashville man who alleges Sharpe assaulted him outside a bar while Tretola served as a lookout.

According to FOX 17 in Nashville, Dante R. Satterfield filed the lawsuit against Sharpe and Tretola on Wednesday.

Satterfield alleges that he was asked to step outside the bar, Tin Roof, after commenting to Sharpe that he would likely receive less playing time with the Titans’ selection of Western Michigan receiver Corey Davis in the first round of the draft earlier that night.

The lawsuit alleges that Sharpe then beat Satterfield unconscious and left him with injuries that included a concussion, facial fractures, bruising and a perforated ear drum. The lawsuit states Satterfield was found by a passerby, who called 911.

I mean, not to excuse Sharpe, but why would "step outside" mean anything other than "let's fight" in that situation? And why would you go along with it?

Buffalo DL Adolphus Washington arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. He was lucky the cops didn't shoot him. :shakehead

from cbssports.com:

Bills defensive lineman Adolphus Washington was arrested Sunday outside a Cincinnati-area water park on a firearms charge, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The Ohio State standout and 2016 third-round pick is accused of improperly carrying a concealed firearm at Splash Park in Sharonville, Ohio.

Around 10 p.m. Sunday, Washington "reached for and displayed a gun while sitting inside his vehicle just feet away from officers," according to a Sharonville police report. "The suspect did not inform officers beforehand."

The Bills issued a statement Monday night: "We are aware of the incident regarding Adolphus Washington and have been in contact with him. Since it is a pending legal matter, we will have no further comment."

Washington, who started 11 games as a rookie and registered 2.5 sacks, has had previous run-ins with police; he was arrested in December 2015 for solicitation of a prostitute and subsequently suspended for Ohio State's Fiesta Bowl matchup against Notre Dame. Washington pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor in February 2016 and entered a program to have the charge dropped.

Alcohol.

That said, you can't beat someone unconscious with those kind of injuries and not expect any sort of repercussions...regardless of the fact that being asked to "step outside" usual means fists are going to get thrown.
