I like this idea.

Thanks, just a basic idea. You probably don't have to give the losers in the quarterfinals that 1 in 98 chance, and you can change the numbers around but I think giving all the teams that don't make the playoffs an equal chance while at the same time giving some teams who make the playoffs a smaller chance would prevent teams from tanking it.

easy enough to do, if you don't make the playoffs you get 5 shots at winning the 1st pick, if you lose in the 1st rd you get 3 shots at the 1st pick, if you lose in the 2nd rd you get 1 shots at winning the first pick

With this setup every team that didn't make the playoffs would get a 5 in 98 chance of winning the 1st overall pick

That means there is a better than 70% chance that the first overall pick would go to a team that didn't make the playoffs and less than a 5% chance that it would go to a team that won the first round of the playoffs. If the team made it to the semi-finals they wouldn't have a chance at the first rd pick.

This way finishing 9th in the conference or 15th you'd have the same chance at winning the first overall pick, That chance would also be just over a 5% chance.

good idea, though I dont like the idea of any team that makes the finals having any chance of getting the first pick overall.

A 28 game season would be perfect. I mean it was right around the 25 game mark that Toronto went on the 16 game point streak last year. Plays right into the hands of the old men on the Leafs.

Except the fact that they will be playing more intensive games every other day leaving them (especially Eddie) prone to injuries.

hossy, I think if you don't wanna read about the bull **** then you better not check this thread again until 6 or so. This is pretty typical conversation on days the two sides meet until the meetings are over, ya get pretty used to it, but I agree it would be nice to not have to sift through 100+ posts about who ordered what kind of pizza, or what everyone is drinking.

Once something breaks then it'll turn to that. Just for now, with no news or anything it'll be like this probably.
