Nobody knows for sure. If they haven't sent out for cheeseburgers within the next couple of hours, someone will probably get concerned and stick their head in the door to check 'em out. But until then, they're just a bunch of Heisenberg kitties.

Meeting over

Unfortunately, this will probably be the case. Both leaders are in a bad spot if they "lose" and unfortunatley, the rest of the game is being held hostage because these two have both drawn a line in the sand and neither is willing to cross it. So much for pride going before the fall..... :shakehead

I wouldn't be surprised if the meeting is over quick. The PA has shown no respect for any proposal. They usually reject it right at the table. The NHL better not make another one until the PA counters with one.

Why? We know what both of these will look like. The NHL proposal will be a hard cap. The NHLPA proposal will be a luxury tax of pennies on the dollar thata is basically no tax or cap.

If anyone is close to the hotel do me a favor. Run to Home Depot, buy a chain and a pad lock. Go to the hotel and lock them in their conference room. Dont worry about getting in trouble, I'll pay all legal fees :joker:

Still no updates?? It's been almost two hours :dunno:

They have to meet for 24 hrs, if there is going to be any hope of a season. In 94/95 Bettman and Goodenow met for 19 hours, to get the deal done.

I disagree, all we need is a compromise between the two sides on the cap issue. I would imagine they could haggle the small stuff over the span of 4-5 hrs.

I've proably missed this discussion, but why not take the "luxury tax" system the players developed and just make the penalties more harsh. In a way both sides could save face that way. :dunno:

There is a difference, this time because the NHL wants the entire CBA signed before there is a season. In 94/95 the two sides didn't have all the little details complete, before the season started. The two sides are going to have to meet for for approx. 24 hours to negotiate all the details. I don't think there will be season this year.
