I think one of them will be back. The question is, do they want to bite the bullet on the last year of Sal's contract and buy him out, like they did with Hedberg? Or do they want to buy out Volch's contract, which has more years on it, and let Sal play out the last year of his?

They still have a compliance buyout left. Volch is the better player but has a worse contract and also isn't the captain. So if they are going to choose between the two it will probably be Volch who goes. It would be nice if they both leave but probably one will still be here.

Didn't see much of the game, but from what I did see crowd was great. Thought the post game was great as well.

Everything was great about today from the weather to the outcome and how Marty and Chico were treated

Second time in my life I've had some tears at a sporting event today, the other being Mariano's last game at Yankee Stadium in the fall

It will be worse when #30 goes into the rafters...

I really am not liking how much my childhood is coming to an end these past few years when it's come to sports

I cannot believe/it hasn't sunk in yet that after these dozens of games I've gone to each year that I'll possibly never see Marty play again in a Devils uniform, or at all ever again, it just doesn't feel right

Marty acknowledged that Cory is the starter now and said he could return as a backup. I guess id be fine with that as long as the coach agrees too.

Jagr is still outside doing autographs.

was this in a postgame or something?

honestly id rather just move on and give Kinky a shot. but if we comes back it better be on a very limited game basis or Cory is gone

I can't really copy and paste things on my phone but it was on TG's quotes on twitter.

Kink had a pretty good year in Albany. Would not hurt at all if he had another year down there.

And with Schneid's his future is limited in NJ anyway, so I'm not seeing the need to get him NHL experience.

He'd actually make that team better since they have TRASH in net over there.

The irony of that franchise getting Marty would not be lost on many in the Hockey world.

Remember that in the same draft that Marty and Jagr were in, the Flames traded up to draft Trevor Kidd and Marty was drafted later.

Yeah that post game was pretty awesome with Chico, going to miss that guy.

The Marty thing hasn't set in yet, it won't until he retires or goes to another team. That was a nice send off at the end of the game there though. The rest of the team basically blocked him from leaving the ice made him do a lap.

As much as people bagged on Karri Ramo when he shut us out he's actually played quite well on the whole down the stretch. I don't think Calgary's a slam dunk for Marty.

Agreed and I think he followed the next game up with another solid performance.
