Absolutely. It's been that way since 19 with Wheeler and Schiefele reaching the end of their primes, losing Trouba and Byfuglien.

Laine and Dubois have both been complete enigmas, no consistency.

Connor is an elite LW but he's not a Pasternak or someone like that who dominates the game off the wing. He needs someone to play with.

Hellebucyk is a star, Morrissey is a reasonable top pair D and everyone behind him is no better than a 3.

A lot of people are focused on acquiring depth but it's likely our top guys are going to get smacked around vs most playoff teams. Schiefele did elevate back in the Canadian Division vs McDavid, but that Edmonton team was so weak behind their top 3 players.

The goalie is not expecting that - he had the original angle on that play until the guy was given center ice and forcing him to come across.
The low hanging fruit is always the backup
