Stuff like that is how winning and losing streaks end. Hockey is a crazy sport where so much depends on just one thing going your way.

I turned the game on while they were announcing the 3 stars, so I missed all the fun. Who was it that Marchessault turned into a pylon for the go ahead goal?

Las Vegas
Also I've had favorite Ducks, I've had favorite non Ducks but I think Jonathan Marchesseault is my first VGK "favorite". This man has done so much to expand the scope and utility of his game and I really think in a team with so many contributing pieces, Marchy is the closest to what I can call the "engine that drives the team"

Honestly I was wondering why Haula even thought to be there. It's not like he went to go mark the trailing man to cut off a passing lane.
Haula has always had a knack for getting himself in the best spot possible. He has pretty high hockey IQ and his speed is just a bonus. I hated that the Wild had to trade him away.

Fun as that was I wasn't crazy about how Vegas played. They have to do better with the puck against a team that runs a similar defense to theirs.

Much as I love Wild Bill I really think Marchy has been our MVP.

There were many comments by the TV guys and Gallant that the ice was in horrible condition, puck bouncing all over the place.

Calgary must be used to it cause they were better about that stuff last night.

Not that much better. Other than Fleury letting one by, and Schmidt tripping or being tripped into him, both teams played pretty evenly to me.

This game is the first of a tough six-game road trip. bookended by two important intradivisional games (Calgary and San Jose). The last six-game road trip in October-November was a total fiasco with a 1-4-1 record. Of course, MAF was not available for that road trip.

This series could practically assure a favorable playoff spot. Ironically, the last game of the regular season (April 7) is also in Calgary.

Two points, baby. Looking good. Also, VGK also have a game or two in hand against most other teams in contention.

Looking at the road schedule ahead, I expect Subbie to get a few games under his belt (possibly against the Jets and Caps). I assume that MAF will get the start against the Pens (a homecoming) and the Sharks (an important intradivisional game).
