Not too surprising, even though I would have been quite happy to just let him go. He's too streaky and he went on some pretty long stretches last year where he was invisible. It's just one year though.

He was a hero of the game I saw in Toronto. Absolutely buzzing. I'm glad we re signed the guy he is a great depth player.

That was the night we scored 1st for the 10th time in a row, and also 10 win in a row. Don't ask what happened the next game vs Montreal. :(

Good to have him back. Ideally you might want him as the 13th forward but I think he's mostly fine playing long stretches on the 4th line as well.

Great signing, he is an excellent lower line guy. Also I'd like to think this confirms that Comeau won't be coming back.

Not bad. No need to fix whats not broke and our 4th line depth was good last yr. Now get some bigger signings done joe, like nemeth!

I'm not surprised, he's great for the locker room and a huge reason why Girard was able to transition to a new team too.

Good signing, hard working guy. On a 1 year deal only especially I’m sure he’ll keep it up

I really hope Benar is prepared to send him down to start the season if some of the kids earn a spot. I don't want to see Greer, Kamenev, or Toninato sent down after good camps despite being better than Bourque. Bednar loves him to death and I always hate it when coaches have blind spots for depth players.

That's a good deal for Gabriel.

I'm a really big fan of these kind of deals for depth forwards. Can't get comfortable as a the 13th forward and a 1 year deal forces him to stay on his toes and play hard.

He played w/ noticeable intensity in the playoffs, showed leadership to some of the younger guys. I like the signing.
