Well, I guess we know his weakness.....playing 3 games in 3 nights.

Carter Hart stopped 38/43 shots in Everett 6-5 win tonight. It's the first time this season Hart allowed more than 3 goals in a game. Hart's GAA rises to 1.51 and his save-percentage drops to .951. #WHL #Flyers

Lovely stuff. Flyers goalies were front and center in my earliest hockey memories. Parent was forced to retire the year I started watching hockey. Peeters, Lindbergh, Froese, and Hextall.

For the first time in a very, very long time it look like things are turning a corner.

I was a young impressionable boy growing up in the outskirts of Montreal when the Flyers won their Cups. Bernie Parent made me fall in love with goaltending, and that's the only position I played from then on.

I've seen some slightly disparage his shut-out record by claiming the guy he's just tied went nowhere, so it's no guarantee he will. Obviously there's no guarantees, but i don't think that holds weight.

Sure, Sexsmith turned into an almighty flop after juniors, but his record in the WHL overall wasn't a touch on Hart's.

Sexsmith SV%:
06/07: .915
07/08: .911
08/09: .898

Hart SV%:
15/16: .918
16/17: .927
17/18: .952

There's really no comparison. It's actually surprising Sexsmith has the record considering his SV% overall.

Look how Sexsmith's SV% got worse every year.

Whereas Harts SV% goes up every year, and his GAA has gone down every year.

Hart is having a human like February with a .9375 SV% and 1.78 GAA for the month.

Now at .950 SV% and 1.58 GAA for the year.

Slightly off topic, but what happened to Tyson Sexsmith? Seems he vanished off the face of the planet.

Sharks didn't qualify him. Tried to pick up an AHL deal and couldn't...then he retired. He was kicking around looking for goalie coach positions, but I'm not sure he ever caught on...I haven't heard his name mentioned anywhere in a while though...

Just wanted to quickly go over how ridiculous Carter Hart has been this season (GSAA = Goals Saved Above Average, QS% = Quality Starts % measures consistency):

-Last season Carter Hart posted a 39.602 GSAA/0.717 QS%. Only 2 goalies were on Hart’s statistical level last year (or passed him in the potential case of Ingram): Ingram (38.632 GSAA/0.733 QS%) & Dhillon (39.106 GSAA/0.672 QS%).

-This year Carter Hart is currently at a 51.266 GSAA/0.900 QS%. He has also yet to be in a statistical bounce back situation. The QMJHL GSAA leader (Samuel Harvey) has been in 4 bounce back situations & the OHL GSAA leader (Jeremy Helvig) has been in 5.

-How close are the OHL/QMJHL GSAA leaders to Carter Hart? Not that close. Jeremy Helvig has a 36.820 GSAA while Huskies Samuel Harvey has a 41.643 GSAA. Both Harvey/Helvig have +40 games played, Hart has 31.

-Hart is also completely dominating his league by a larger margin than the other leaders. Differentials between 1st/2nd place in GSAA:
WHL(Hart/Tendeck): 28.074
OHL (Helvig/Fazio): 3.32
QMJHL (Harvey/Samuel): 14.044

Plus, its not like he plays games where he gets 15-20 saves,
tonight 2-1 away W, 29 saves, dude wins games by himself...pretty much.
Also, many 1&2 goal game wins

9 x 25+ shots against
13 x 30+ shots against
5 x 40+ shots against
1 x 50+ shots against

rest of the games; 22 or more shots against

finally someone takes the bait haha....i was half joking...everybody just hypes so hard. he does seem like a really good goalie...but just doesnt "fill" the net like some. also thought he was like 6 ft. even. anyway i cant actually wait to see in the league. where i buy my groceries one of the cashiers' sons plays on the Silvertips so i get inside info on him...haha. she was surprised at the hype and how early he went in draft.
