I thought this was about first rounders, not third rounders.

Chucko does not have half the skill that Deader did.Russian_fanatic said:You're not giving Chucko enough credit. Think of a healthy Adam Deadmarsh when you watch chucko play.
Doesn't that say something though - Chucko works his *** of every game he plays and he's still only put up up 13 points in 30 games this season. To make the point clearer, four defencemen are currently outscoring Kris Chucko.Russian_fanatic said:Every goals he scores is because he works his *** off.
How is Minnesota "stacked"?DoobieDoobieDo said:FYI: Benoit Pouliot almost got on a stacked Minnesota team. They sent him back (they don't rush their prospects anymore, good job Minnesota) but they liked what they saw in Pouliot, so I think if he leaves the Wolves, it would be best for him.

Russian_fanatic said:You're wrong. Chucko doesn't have as much skill as Deader, but he has more skill than Knuble. His work ethic is just great, and he always give it 100%. Every goals he scores is because he works his *** off.

I don't feel these guys are going to be busts...but I don't think that any of them are going to live up to their expectations....especially Pouliot, Wheeler and Montoya.

I think the fact that he hasn't earned more ice time with the top players on the team says something about his offensive potential. He might break out in the future but putting up .43 points/game in your sophomore season in college certainly isn't a reason to be optimistic.
Heck, the "unskilled" Mike Knuble that you mentioned put up 42 points in 39 games for Michigan in his sophomore year back in 1992. Chucko is definitely a project but I personally don't like the sounds of a non-skilled power forward with very poor skating ability, regardless of his work ethic.
Fine, say the Wild are "deep", or have a lot of forward depth. Stacked was the wrong word to use because it implies a "stacked" ie very talented roster (the Red Wings from 1997 were stacked), which Minnesota does not have.DoobieDoobieDo said:Defense (which Pouliot doesn't play):
Scott Ferguson (free agent)
Daniel Tjarnqvist (free agent)
Brent Burns
Filip Kuba
Willie Mitchell
Nick Schultz
Andrei Zyuzin
Alex Henry
Kurtis Foster
They signed Ferguson and Tjarnqvist before or during spring training...
Forward Core:
1/Marian Gaborik
2/Randy Robitaille (brought in because Gaborik was injured)
3/Brian Rolston
4/Pascal Dupuis
5/Stephane Veilleux (no idea why he is here, other than the Wild wanted to see how he would do in the regular season)
6/Kyle Wanvig (see Veilleux)
7/Alexandre Daigle (Had an awesome 03-04 season, see if he could duplicate it)
8/Brian Rolston
9/Wes Walz
10/Derek Boogaard
11/Andrei Nazarov (Insurance if Boogaard didn't pan out, stupid move but necessary in the NW)
12/Pierre-Marc Bouchard (broke out in 04-05 in Houston, still having a solid season this year)
13/ Matt Foy (had a great camp, it was him or Pouliot and Pouliot, if he made it becomes a FA earlier)
14/ Marc Choiunard (face off specialist)
15/ Mikko Koivu (injured)
16/ Todd White
Who do you cut and why?

Resolute said:Having watched Schultz the past four years, I have absolutely no doubt that he will not stick in the NHL. His size will probably get him into the league for a cup of coffee or two, but a 6'7" defenseman who plays like a 5'7" defenseman will not last long in the NHL.
