You're not giving Chucko enough credit. Think of a healthy Adam Deadmarsh when you watch chucko play.
Chucko does not have half the skill that Deader did.

Chucko is more like a more physical, less skilled Mike Knuble.

You're wrong. Chucko doesn't have as much skill as Deader, but he has more skill than Knuble. His work ethic is just great, and he always give it 100%. Every goals he scores is because he works his *** off.

Doesn't that say something though - Chucko works his *** of every game he plays and he's still only put up up 13 points in 30 games this season. To make the point clearer, four defencemen are currently outscoring Kris Chucko.

I think the fact that he hasn't earned more ice time with the top players on the team says something about his offensive potential. He might break out in the future but putting up .43 points/game in your sophomore season in college certainly isn't a reason to be optimistic.

Heck, the "unskilled" Mike Knuble that you mentioned put up 42 points in 39 games for Michigan in his sophomore year back in 1992. Chucko is definitely a project but I personally don't like the sounds of a non-skilled power forward with very poor skating ability, regardless of his work ethic.

FYI: Benoit Pouliot almost got on a stacked Minnesota team. They sent him back (they don't rush their prospects anymore, good job Minnesota) but they liked what they saw in Pouliot, so I think if he leaves the Wolves, it would be best for him.

How is Minnesota "stacked"?

Chucko is like Nystrom. Both without any measurable NHL skills. Their upside is Shean Donovan, that's how Sutter likes it.

I don't feel these guys are going to be busts...but I don't think that any of them are going to live up to their expectations....especially Pouliot, Wheeler and Montoya.

Oshie? I think you'll be wrong.

I still remember thinking "who the hell is Oshie?" when he was drafted. After watching him a couple of time, I came to the realization that the Blues made one hell of a pick, and kudos to the scouts in St. Louis.

Defense (which Pouliot doesn't play):
Scott Ferguson (free agent)
Daniel Tjarnqvist (free agent)
Brent Burns
Filip Kuba
Willie Mitchell
Nick Schultz
Andrei Zyuzin
Alex Henry
Kurtis Foster

They signed Ferguson and Tjarnqvist before or during spring training...

Forward Core:
1/Marian Gaborik
2/Randy Robitaille (brought in because Gaborik was injured)
3/Brian Rolston
4/Pascal Dupuis
5/Stephane Veilleux (no idea why he is here, other than the Wild wanted to see how he would do in the regular season)
6/Kyle Wanvig (see Veilleux)
7/Alexandre Daigle (Had an awesome 03-04 season, see if he could duplicate it)
8/Brian Rolston
9/Wes Walz
10/Derek Boogaard
11/Andrei Nazarov (Insurance if Boogaard didn't pan out, stupid move but necessary in the NW)
12/Pierre-Marc Bouchard (broke out in 04-05 in Houston, still having a solid season this year)
13/ Matt Foy (had a great camp, it was him or Pouliot and Pouliot, if he made it becomes a FA earlier)
14/ Marc Choiunard (face off specialist)
15/ Mikko Koivu (injured)
16/ Todd White

Who do you cut and why?

Chucko does have skill though it's just that he is VERY raw at the moment.

Having watched Schultz the past four years, I have absolutely no doubt that he will not stick in the NHL. His size will probably get him into the league for a cup of coffee or two, but a 6'7" defenseman who plays like a 5'7" defenseman will not last long in the NHL.

Fine, say the Wild are "deep", or have a lot of forward depth. Stacked was the wrong word to use because it implies a "stacked" ie very talented roster (the Red Wings from 1997 were stacked), which Minnesota does not have.

those are my picks im sure they will offend somebody but... its my opinion

Caps are pretty bad drafters? They only got Ovechkin because they got the first pick (and we'll someday see if they should've picked Malkin) and many have claimed that better options were available when Semin was drafted.

Fehr I kinda understand, but Pokulok I do not. Better defensemen were drafted in the later rounds.

I watch a ton of Gophers hockey, and I've NEVER thought of Chucko as a "healthy Deadmarsh." He doesn't have near the skill Deadmarsh had. He's a grinder, plain and simple.

Lukas Kaspar is my first guess as well. I just havne't seen anything from him in the times I've watched him play that has made me take notice.

I'd agree about his consistancy - but he has shown the skills - also - he is only 19 and should really still be in junior - players of his size from Europe often have a hard time adjusting to the expections of being a power winger in the NA pro game, and so it's a bit early to make a judgement just yet. It seems that the Sharks are happy with his progress and there were reports recently that they will be giving him a look in the NHL towards seasons end.

Schulz is definatly on bust alert for Washington.

I'd cut Rolston since he is on there twice ;)
