Really? Francis seat has been vacant for 30 minutes and we are already the Cowboys/Jerry Jones of the NHL? Let's be patient....see who is hired. What happens with Peters? Who is signed/traded this summer, before labelling this as a meddling owner dead set on ruining the franchise.

Yes, Really. Like I said, you (specifically) and others over-react on far less on a regular basis. So to tell others to be patient, is quite comical. Pot, meet kettle.

And "if" the report is correct, an owner wanting to be directly involved in personnel decisions is a very good reason to be concerned. Shannon isn't some "blogger", he's an NHL reporter that's been around for years.

You're clueless.

Let's see who Dundon hires before calling this a shitshow. If you can't manage that much pateince, you have problems. Dundon should have fired the whole organization on day one. He's patient......

Maybe! Like...

...more Dundon gear at The Eye
...Dundon hires self as GM! Reports to self! Hilarity ensues.
...Dundon trades Francis to Pittsburgh for Jooris, says he wanted to keep JJ all along.

TBH I’m starting to understand that this would all be far more successful as a television show than as a hockey team

We all wanted a new owner... well, unfortunately this is what we may have opened ourselves up to to get one

Still better than spinning our wheels with one of the most unlikable owners in sports. Just my opinion though. I'll take being the next Redskins or Cowboys over potentially becoming the new Browns or Bengals.

Oh my, this is priceless. TheBigKahuna saying someone else is clueless and if they aren't patient, they have problems. You must have a BOATLOAD of problems then TBK. You pretty much have done nothing but complain and rant on this board for years.

And for the record, I am patient, but I think it's ok to be concerned when a report, from an NHL producer/reporter, states that Dundon wants to be more involved. If you can't see that, you are blinded by your hate for Francis.

And "Mr. Patient" The Big Kahuna thinks Dundon should have fired the whole organization on day 1. You certainly are a patient guy TBK.

Seriously, if we’re going to be a sad sack franchise we should go right over the top and be a full-on **** show.

I want to see Skinner try to fight Peters on the bench tomorrow night.

That tweet is...concerning yet perplexing. Dundon doesn't seem to be the personality of a Jones or a Cuban and why would anyone want to manage through a puppet GM for a team you know nothing about. Hopefully, it's just he wants to be active in the team but will leave the hockey decisions to hockey people. I would hate to have a Michael Jordan where you hear about things like him calling the GM on draft night telling him to take a certain player or such.

I’ve come around to this. I think the figure-head GM should be based on a fan vote, knowing full well he or she will be a figure head. Is there anyone more well suited for that than Joe McGrath? I think not.

Being more involved, as rumored, is so terrible. Karmanos was a super owner with his hands off style. We will surely miss those days. Sitting back letting his GM kill the franchise.

You're pathetic,, to be honest. Grasping at imaginary straws. Sorry your boy Francis got "promoted", but you're simply being ridiculous. Biggest overreacting of the day. Your deflections are weaksauce.

I mean on paper, yes... Francis marginally improved upon on where we were when he was hired. But results wise? We're still basically where we were. If anyone wants to give me reasons to why we might improve the next year or two under Francis, I'd love to hear why. The only reason we're in the playoff hunt so late this year is due to mainly parity and our division's mediocrity.

As far as drafting, I don't see how anyone is content with Francis. Yes, we got Aho and potentially a good player in Necas. Other than that, his drafting has been pretty questionable. He also refused to call up any of our prospects to see if they could help. The fact that he refused to do so doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement of those players.

As for free agency and acquisitions, he was mostly so-so with Teravainen, Williams, and maybe TVR counting as good ones, and obviously I don't need to point out the horrible ones.

He's more nuanced in interviews and soft spoken but literally everything that was out there to be read about the guy around the time he was hired said he's a Cuban/Jones type personality.
