CALGARY (CP) The Flames are looking to extend thier present unbeaten streak tonight, as the Calgary Flames head into Montreal to face the Canadien. The Flames have defeated the three of the top teams in the East in the past week, proving that the Western Conference is far deeper and more talented than the East. The Flames have defeated second place Islanders, the third placed Devils and the fifth placed Lightning. Pavel Datsyuk, promoted to the top line as Vaclav Prospal moved back to his natural LW position, has three goals and five assists, for eight points during that run. The second line has started to click as well, with Richard Zednik scoring three goals. Trade rumours continue to swirl around the team with potential UFA's Scott Thornton and PJ Axelsson rumoured to be on the way out before the trade dealine. Brian Sutter, the teams head coach, commented that in his conversations with the General Manager he favours keeping the players to make a push for the playoffs - but the team will look to the future if it were to drop further out of contention.
