Don't really blame Rittich there, both defensemen just left Carr all alone and do what ever he wanted.

Rittich is solid.

Hamilton needs to be better.

Flames need a new PK coach. This passive stuff is getting old.

Ugh Gaudreau is playing scared. He looks completely ineffective lately.

Disappointing. Don't think he'll stay in the top 10 if he doesn't man up and start playing like he was before.

Man, when the Backlund line or Stajan line are out, I have no confidence in ever scoring a goal.

Tis a shame.

It’s pretty funny how much Glen has gone to the stretch pass. That’s just the way the league is now. Such ugly hockey.

Just trying to thread that needle to the wingers up ice to keep the defencemen and center in solid defensive positioning until they get one that works, or a bounce that goes their way. Looks like the teams are playing ping pong at times. But how else can you beat the trap which pretty much every team plays in their own way now?

A lot of it depends on the situation, though. If we're tired after being hemmed in for a while, it's a big risk trying to execute a break-in with a 50/50 chance (or worse because we're tired) of being unsuccessful and getting caught out there. It's a bit of a vicious cycle. The less time we can spend defending, the more controlled rushes we will have, which means less time defending.

That Habs fourth line is good for some reason. The players on it are unremarkable but put them together and boom great line.
