He probably thought the same thing getting claimed by Vegas. Played 4 games with Vegas , just over 9 min TOI. Maybe he'll get better there.

Like, Florida has Montour, Forsling, OEL doing well enough. And they need to keep that pipeline going. Theyre not "rich" on D if that makes sense

I mean not to the same degree but McNabb was pretty much a bottom pair guy and has turned into a steady 2nd pairing D + Whitecloud is a nice find for an undrafted UFA. Got Schmidt's best years before getting out from him just in time as well

LAK didn't claim him? Weird, they could have sent him down to AHL without requiring waivers so I would have imagined that it would have been risk-free.
