Demers is a good player. The owners told the management that they have to get rid of some contracts. Thats why Reilly Smith went to Vegas with Marchessault for example.

Assuming Demers' signing bonus has already been paid, they only shed roughly 1M in this deal. Will have to wait and see the details whether there is retaining or another big asset from ARZ, weird trade otherwise.
