I was talking to a friend about this at the last game I was at, how many guys have you seen score their first NHL goal in person. Anyone see a hall of famer or future hall of famers first?

I saw Patrice Bergeron score his first NHL goal at Staples Center in 2003, I think he could have a pretty nice career.

Man, that's a REALLY good question. I have no idea how many I've seen, but two just leaped to mind. My first Devils game was opening night of the 87-88 season, and the highlight of the night was Doug Brown stripping the puck from Mario at center ice and coming in for a breakaway to score his first NHL goal. Another time, the Devs had an off day so my buddy and I drove down to Philly to see the Flyers-Rangers game. The Flyers won but some little wiseacre named Domi scored his first NHL goal. Another I just thought of was 3 weeks ago when I drove over to Raleigh to see my boys play the Canes. The Devils gifted Chad Larose with the easiest trophy puck that has ever been scored. I know there are plenty of others I'm forgetting, but that's three with not a HOF player among them.

Dennis Seidenberg does absolutely nothing at least i havent seen him do anything, so that doesnt make him a future HOF, but thats just me. I think the Flyers can do without him. :dunno:

I saw Pavel Bure's first point, in his 2nd game I believe, in Vancouver. An assist. Lightning fast, didn't have a good shot so stopped on a dime on the goal line, crisp pass back to another player in the slot. It all happened extremely fast. God he was good.

Patrick Rissmiller and Milan Michalek for San Jose. Milan's in his first game, Patrick's in like his 14th game. And Rod Brindamour's when he was a Blue, a long time ago.

Well so far this season I've seen the first NHL goals scored by Ryan Hollweg and Maxim Kondratiev. No, not future HOFers, but cool nonetheless.

Not a hall of famer, but I saw Artem Chubarov's first NHL goal, scored against the Blackhawks. Another neat thing I saw at a game I was at (considering I've grown up fairly poor and have only been able to see a couple of games a year at best), I was at the game where Pavel Bure scored against boston in the 96-97 pre-season on the breakaway by dropping the puck to his skate and kicking it back up to his stick. It was scored against Scott Bailey.

Off the top of my head:

Damian Surma (Carolina) - In his first of two NHL games against the Senators in the '02-'03 season in Raleigh. Batted it in out of mid-air and then injured his shoulder celebrating. :biglaugh:

Brad Fast (Carolina) - Also in his first (and only) NHL game, against Florida in Florida during last game of the '03-'04 season.

Andrew Ladd (Carolina) - Against Toronto earlier this season in Raleigh. The puck somehow found its way into the net during a scramble and it was determined Ladd was the last Hurricane to touch it, so he was credited with the goal.

Freddy Meyer (Philadelphia) - Against Carolina earlier this season in Raleigh.

First one that comes to mind for me is Janne Niinimaa's first goal, scored in December of 1996 against the Islanders. Niinimaa was paired with Paul Coffey in Coffey's first game as a Flyer.
