This is the first mock I've made for this draft so go easy on me. I'm not as well versed on all the prospects that I'd like to be so most of my knowledge of them stems from what I've read both here and in various publications. That said, here it is, let me know what you think:

1. Chicago Blackhawks - RW Patrick Kane
2. Philadelphia Flyers - C Kyle Turris
3. Phoenix Coyotes - D Karl Alzner
4. Los Angeles Kings - LW James van Riemsdyk
5. Washington Capitals - RW Alexei Cherepanov
6. Edmonton Oilers - C Angelo Esposito
7. Columbus Blue Jackets - RW Jakub Voracek
8. Boston Bruins - C Sam Gagner
9. St. Louis Blues - D Keaton Ellerby
10. Florida Panthers - D Nick Petrecki
11. Carolina Hurricanes - C Logan Couture
12. Montreal Canadiens - D Kevin Shattenkirk
13. Toronto Maple Leafs - C Brandon Sutter
14. Colorado Avalanche - D Jon Blum
15. Edmonton Oilers (from New York Islanders) - C Zach Hamill
16. Anaheim Ducks (from Tampa Bay Lightning) - D Thomas Hickey
17. New York Rangers - RW Oscar Moller
18. Calgary Flames - D Alex Plante
19. Minnesota Wild - C Colton Gillies
20. Pittsburgh Penguins - LW Maxim Mayorov
21. Phoenix Coyotes (from Dallas Stars) - LW Luca :eek::eek::eek:i
22. Montreal Canadiens (from San Jose Sharks) - C Joakim Andersson
23. Philadelphia Flyers (from Nashville Predators) - D John Negrin
24. St. Louis Blues (from Atlanta Thrashers) - RW Akim Aliu
25. Vancouver Canucks - C Mikael Backlund
26. St. Louis Blues (from New Jersey Devils via San Jose Sharks) - C Dana Tyrell
27. Ottawa Senators - LW Bill Sweatt
28. Edmonton Oilers (from Anaheim Ducks) - D Mark Katic
29. Detroit Red Wings - D Ryan McDonagh
30. Washington Capitals (from Buffalo Sabres) - RW David Perron

Okay, here we go:

Espo ahead of Voracek?
Sweatt and McDonagh that low?
Aliu and :eek::eek::eek:i in the first round?
Where's Eller?

This looks like a mock put together a couple of months ago...

- Alzner to Phoenix? IMO, the last thing they need is a defenseman.

- Voracek falling to 7th? I have tough time believing it.

- St. Louis taking another Dman with their first pick?

Also, about 50% of people's mock drafts have Sutter going to Toronto, which will not happen. Accroding to who was available at 13 in your mock, the Leafs would draft Hamill, Backlund, Mayorov or Eller, probably in that order.

you must know some very connected people to have info like that..... hell, scouts don't even share those kinds of lists with trusted blood relatives, nevermind hf bloggers.

If Jakub Voracek is available at #6, the Oilers will take him. I don't see the Oilers drafting Esposito at #6. If he's available at #15, then they might risk Esposito but not at #6.

Thanks for the input guys. Like I said, this was my first mock attempt and I'm still feeling out team needs and prospect value and such to improve it as the draft gets closer. I've already started work on my second installment.

Yup, if Voracek and Gagner are on the table at 6, we wouldn't choose Espo over either.

Apart from that, not bad.

Edmonton won't pass on Vorecek for Espo (Espo will go 15-25 IMO).... JVR will go to PHX over Alzner, some don't even consider Alzner the top D-man anymore...:eek::eek::eek:i, Negrin, Katic, and Aliu will not go in the 1st round (IMO)....I would love for McDonagh to go to the Wings, but I think he will be a top 15 pick. Not a bad try though.
