In the WHL, some guys who come to mind as great skaters:
Kyle Cumiskey isn't much of a prospect, but his speed and acceleration are ridiculous.
Brendan Mikkelson is maybe the best guy in the WHL both directions.
Ray Macias is another guy with outstanding speed.
Ben Maxwell, Brady Calla, and the Russel brothers are some other guys that come to mind. Mostly Western conference guys I'm listing because that's mostly what I see.

Rightttt, I forgot about Parent. I remember in the World Juniors when Malkin was in on a breakaway and had a good three steps on Parent. Parent sprinted at him in like one second and took the puck from him. It was unreal.

Wow, tell me more! As Preds fans, we are loving the selection of Parent. He seems like a purpose built defensive defenseman for the 'new' NHL. He's got the size and strength to play with the powerforwards and the acceleration and top end to play with the speedsters.

When I saw the title of the thread, the first name that pop in my mind was Enver Lisin. The guy has insane speed. There isn't another prospect that stands out for me since I've not seen most of them play. Malikn isn't the fastest skater around but he moves so well around the ice and he can cover a lot of ground in a couple of strides.

Good to see that someone mentioned him. That kid can move. He and Kessel are the first two that popped into my head.

Isn't Shawn Belle supposed to be wicked fast?

I didn't know they say "wicked" in Minnesota, I thought that was a Central NY and New England word? :D (I use it wicked often.)

If you are talking the fastest skater in the OHL, it would have to be Chad Painchaud of the Sarnia Sting who registered a 14.22 lap at the Ohl skills competition, He is a fourth round draft pick for Alanta. Second to him with 14.25 was Tyler Kennedy of the Soo Greyhound , so they both beat Parent, Kennedy is a fourth round pick of Pittsburgh.

The winner of the OHL skills fastest lap is simply the fastest of the handfull of players that were asked to skate in the competition and cannot be called the fastest skater in the OHL. There are a lot of fast guys that were not invited to the Allstar event.

Further, nobody "beat" Parent, he was not asked to skate.

Jordan Morrison is one of the fastest skaters I've seen.

He was right up there with Rico Fata and Koltsov at the Pens' training camp.

If Salmelainen is still prospect as he haven't played much NHL I would go with him. Next year he will show it too.

grabovsky is so fast .. ?

Nah, more like Alfie fast. And Alfie won't win any speedskating contest...

Dwight Helminen can really fly.

Though in terms of speed on the ice, which really matters I would say that I have a hard time finding a better skater outside the NHL then Semin.

I was going to ask where do people see the Korpedo standing in this list?

Korpedo carries a really good speed over an entire shift. Though I don't see him up there with the best. He is not Gaborik fast, more Gagne-Zetterberg kind of wheels.
