I'm starting a Fantrax fantasy hockey league this season. We already have 17 managers, so looking for seven more. The live draft is Sunday, September 28 at 10 AM Eastern standard time.
The only requirement is that you set your lineups every day--and replace injured players whenever possible. I think you could easily do it in 5-10 min. a day--but you can't do it if you like to take two-week vacations from time to time. You really have to check in on your team at least once every two or three days.
As for the league, I will probably limit the drafting of goalies to two. I don't think it's fair to hoard goalies, and then try to trade them to desperate owners. With 24 teams, I want to make sure that everybody has at least one starting goalie--or two backups that play often.
I try to roughly simulate real NHL hockey rosters with 15 skaters (three lines), two goalies, and five bench players.
There will probably be nine scoring categories for skaters--most of them related to scoring, but specifically hits and blocks for defenseman. There also probably be about five categories for goalies--I think most leagues have too many categories for goalies.
