Can we close this thread and restart it AFTER the trade deadline? Just don't really see the point until we hit at least one milestone where Stammer "might" not sign.
Keep drafting well and develop prospects with great patience, give our best players good contracts, work a few trades if needed, no need to waste cap space overpaying free agents unless a Stralman opportunity presents itself.
Need to see how Koekkoek does with this extended look. This will also add more minutes and important ones to Sustr and Nesterov as Hedman - Stralman can't do it all. If the 3 of them show real competency then we don't need an overpriced vet and we need to give them more of a roll. If Stamkos walks we also don't have to buyout Carle right away, we can explore some trade routes and bury him in the AHL. The Crunch could use some real help on the backend and he'd be an okay call, albeit extremely expensive, keeping him an extra year might raise his value but it allows us to hold onto and the buyout becomes a year shorter.
