  • CAPFRIENDLY IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL CAP INFO.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2017-2018 season is $75.5M.
  • The salary cap minimum for the 2016-2017 season is $56M.
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap during the season and by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the the end of the game.
  • Teams may sign their draft picks to contracts using the ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT CHART.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $900k of their cap hit. Use the Buyout Calculator.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the NHL standings as of February 18th (the start of the game).
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Teams are permitted to use a maximum of TWO ordinary buyouts.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Trades
  • All trades must be sent to Joel Ward and Soli or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any moves we deem to be ridiculous.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player(s) to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH Joel Ward and Soli prior to posting. Keep in mind that many NTCs or NMCs will NOT be waived.
  • The commissioners will provide a 5 to 8-team no-trade list for players with an unspecified "limited NTC" upon request.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • Vetoed deals must be significantly altered in order for them to be accepted.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC will still be valid with their new team unless otherwise explicitly stated in the clause.

[fieldset=""]Expansion Draft

Protection Lists

  • Teams must protect either 7 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goaltender OR 8 skaters (forward/defense), and 1 goaltender.
  • Please post your teams protection list in the expansion thread by (TBA). If you do not submit your list in time you will be auto'd in the live rounds of the entry draft.
  • Teams must protect all players with active NMC's at the time of the Expansion Draft (who decline to waive), and these players will be counted to the teams protection list.
  • All 1st and 2nd year professionals, and unsigned draft choices, are exempt from selection and do not need to be protected.
  • The players listed here are expansion exempt due to injury.
  • Teams may contact the commissioners assigned to NTC/NMC waives with regards to NMC waives for the expansion draft, however, players will only waive if a compelling reason or argument is provided.
  • CapFriendly has an Expansion Draft Tool, use it.

    Player Exposure Requirements
  • Teams must expose 2 forwards who are under contract for the 2017-18 season, and have played 70 or more NHL games in the prior two seasons.
  • Teams must expose 1 defenseman who is under contract for the 2017-18 season, and have played 70 or more NHL games in the prior two seasons.
  • Teams must expose 1 goaltender who is under contract for the 2017-18 season or will be and RFA at the expiration of his current contract prior to 2017-18.
  • Players with potentially career-ending injuries who have missed more than the previous 60 consecutive games (or have been otherwise diagnosed with a career-threatening injury) may not be used to satisfy the player exposure requirements.

    Regulations Relating to Expansion Franchise
  • Las Vegas must select one player from each of the 30 other teams, for a total of 30 players (14 forwards, 9 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders).
  • Las Vegas must select a minimum of 20 players who are under contract for the 2017-18 season
  • Las Vegas must select players with an aggregate Expansion Draft value that is between 60-100% of the prior season's upper limit for the salary cap.
  • Las Vegas may not buy out any selected players earlier than the summer after it's first season
  • Las Vegas will be given a 24 hour window to negotiate with unprotected UFA's and RFA's that are left exposed, between when protection lists are submitted and when Las Vegas' selections are due. During this period, trades not including the Vegas franchise may not be completed.
  • Las Vegas will not be able to trade selected players back to the team they selected them from until January of 2018.

Looking to move futures in exchange for a top 6 forward, preferably a center. We are willing to look at upgrades anywhere on the roster, but Forsberg, Arvidsson, Johansen, Josi, Subban, Ellis, Ekholm, and Saros likely won't be going anywhere.

Wouldn't mind adding a bottom pairing defender also, but that will likely be addressed through FA.

Have had some talks and closing in on some trades regarding cap dumps. If you have a $4M+ player you want to dump, better drop a line quick. High draft picks and/or NHL-ready prospects are the preferred currency.

2 Expansion Slots for defensemen are available atm.

Jake Muzzin and Alec Martinez are available. Looking to add a talented young forward in return.

Jeff Carter also on the block for a younger centre.

Other pieces, such as prospects, potentially the 11th overall pick, and so on available. Matt Greene can be had for a mid pick.

Looking to quickly retool the Kings. Kopitar, Doughty, Toffoli, and Pearson will not be moved.

We are looking to build our team around our young core : Provorov, Ghost, Sanheim, Myers, Couturier, Konecny, Lindblom, etc.

Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Read and other veterans are in play for young talented players to add to our core. Picks have little value to us at this point.

2nd overall would be hard to get but we are listening. Looking for a young NHL talent, not interested in moving down.

Travis Sanheim could be in play for a young RHD with similar value.

Samuel Morin could be available for a forward with similar value.

Finally, if you are moving a young goaltender ready for a starting role, let me know.

I'm listening to offers on Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Benoit Pouliot, Mark Fayne EDM 1st '17, All prospects (Pulju would be very difficult to acquire. Actively exploring Caleb Jones offers.).

Jordan Eberle is a 25-30 goal scorer that comfortably ranks amongst the Top-20 RWs in point production every season. His first foray into the playoffs showed he can contribute to team defense and somewhat surprisingly play an even shutdown matchup role. It may just be time for a change of scenery.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins followed up a strong World Cup role playing elder statesman with a good matchup center campaign. RNH put a focus on his defensive game as our "third line center" and we're pleased with the results in his own zone. We're looking for Nuge to get back to what made him so elusive and offensively dangerous in his first couple of seasons but the minutes might not be there with McDavid and Draisaitl down the middle. We're listening to offers but not convinced we'll move him as we want to give our excellent center depth a chance.

Anton Lander scored 25G-30A-55pts in 42 games in the AHL. He's a good faceoff man and useful penalty killer. He's getting squeezed out in Edmonton and I'm looking for a new home for him.

David Musil is in a similar situation where he's being passed over by other left handed defensemen. We're looking to re-home him.

We'd like to move Benoit Pouliot & Mark Fayne.

We're looking for:

- Top-6 Right handed shot
- RH One-timer
- Top-4 RHD, PPQB
- More traditional 3rd line center
- Bottom-6 Faceoff specialist

---

UPDATE: Had some good discussions with a bunch of teams. Nuge is getting more play than I thought. Some interesting ideas around Nuge & Eberle packages. If I were to move Nuge I'm likely looking for a Top-4 RHD or a different look up front.

We're taking offers on our first rounder (22nd OV).

The Colorado Avalanche are happy to announce the acquisition of Nathan Beaulieu from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Mikhail Grigorenko.

We believe Nathan Beaulieu is capable of bettering our defense almost immediately, and while we hate to give up on Mikhail, we feel it's time he tried his talent at another hockey club.

We'd like to wish Nathan good luck in Colorado. He still has some upside, but he wasn't a fit on our squad anymore. One of our main goals this offseason was to acquire some talent up front, and we feel like Grigorenko fits this bill perfectly, while being on a low cap hit. It's change of scenery that will be benefital for both players.

Open to moving anyone not named Kucherov, Point, Hedman and Vasilevski.

Stamkos, Palat, and Stralman will be quite expensive. Johnson, Callahan, and Garrison being actively shopped.

Looking for young, top-9 forwards and young defenders with top 2/4 potential (preferably RHD).

PM me if you have anything in mind.

While it's hard to part ways with a great young defenceman like Trouba, this gives us a 26 year old who has been a 20 goal scorer for the past three seasons and really broke out this past season, with 28 goals, as well as being recognized for leading his team on the ice. Also receive a potential piece to the puzzle that is our goaltending situation. Picks are also always of value.

Lots of offers coming in for Matt Duchene. Make sure that if you're interested you get some sort of offer in that we can work on.

I'm hoping to get at least a young top 4 defenseman with lots of potential, a first round pick, and a good prospect. Pieces can be added or subtracted based on value of the players and the offers of other teams.
