Euros in the AHL

Are European players who play in the CHL able to play in the AHL under 20 or are they held to the same rule as the other NA juniors? A dumb question perhaps, but theres some 87's who could make the step to the minors atleast next year and it was something Ive been wondering.

i know bergfors of the rivverats was drafted with the Q (st john fog devils i think) and then decided to go pro. He even played preseason in the Q, then went to the AHL
