I could care less about this stupid game. Please bring back the NHL. It cant come soon enough.

The reason why North Americans don't give a damn is because it isn't our teams playing. No Canada or US. It sucks yeah but it doesn't mean its a stupid game. Finns and Swedes have one helluva rivalry and just because our teams aren't playing doesn't make it a stupid game. As for me, I'm not setting my alarm but if I happen to open my eyes between 8am and 10:30 I'm sure going to watch it. Go Sundin err Sweden Go!

Sweden: about 9 million
Finland: about 5 million

That to me is amazing. That these countries consistantly produce such high quality talent and defeat much larger countries. My hats off to both

Disagree and Agree.

Should be a barn-burner of a game, I can't wait. Also, I want to get the Trade Deadline and Playoff push excitement going...

You know, I can almost promise you, that there will
literally be barns burning in the losing country tomorrow. :madfire:

As much as we love playing against each other,
there's nothing worse than lose to each other.
This goes for both sides.

The posting in this forum totally died once the US and Canada lost.

Common sense would tell you that would happen, with a majority of the HF population being North American.

Understandable, but it's kind of sad, considering there still was and is good hockey to be seen.

Canada - Russia
USA - Canada
Liverpool - Man Utd.
All those other football/soccer rivalries that I can't keep track of
Sweden - Finland
Yankees - Red Sox
Bills - Dolphins

Seriously, the intensity may not be felt as much on this side of the Atlantic, but this game should be one for the ages.

Yes indeed. With the exeption, that these two
neighbours have a common history of around a
thousand years. There's been good times and
there's been bad times together. So it's kind of
a love-and-hate-thing in the genes.

Your expression of 'for the ages' has quite a
meaning in this particular case. For the past
ages and the coming ones too.

This game is the one most of the people on both
sides hope for, but at the same time they fear
that their hope will come true.

Pretty strange huh

:handclap: :D :handclap:

Yeah, unfortunately I'm in the same boat as others - I could care less who wins, what the scores is, or even if they played the damn thing.

At least I can go and drink tonight without any worries of sleeping past the gold medal tomorrow. ;)
