Meh...

I was hoping to keep LB in the Bake for a playoff drive.

If he is going to back up Talbot I'd like to see them split the remaining starts. The games are meaningless, may as well get LB the experience.

We here in Bako got screwed. Eetu is not ready to be a #1 here but he is. Word has it that the draft pick acquired will be flipped before Monday. This single event could cause us to
Miss the play offs.

I understand what you're thinking, but Brossoit deserves a few NHL games and the experience and money that's comes with it.

The Oilers need to see if he's ready to back-up Talbot next year.

Not to sound like a dick..But the Condors making the playoffs is the last thing I care about. They run to many AHL vets near the top of their team. They need to be more like the Sens farm team and be loaded with our young guys. Slepy was on the fourth line last night, Klink on the first. I know Klink is playing well down there, but our future players should be playing.

You don't sound like a dick at all. Bako is a minor league team. Their number one role is to aid in the development of players for the Oilers.

Bako got screwed? Whatever.

The Blues assigned Nilsson to the Chicago Wolves? :amazed:

I don't really understand this trade from the Blues perspective at all.

Marginal swedish goalie for marginal swedish goalie and a pick?

It does feel good to be on the winning side of a trade.

I don't like trading away talent just to open up a spot but this shouldn't be a big deal any which way.

Congrats to Anders for putting up with the **** show, and moving on to a better org.
I had high hopes for him here, but can't put the blame solely on him. Good luck to him.

Apparently Allen is injury prone so they want a backup plan

Also for people saying we're just getting our 5th back, I don't see it like that.

Coughlin was tracking as a 7th rounder when we traded him and likely shouldn't have been picked at all. We're getting a decent pick, in a good draft. Remember, we drafted Bear in the 5th last year.

Chiarelli quietly burning down small villages.

He's made a bunch of solid minor moves of late.

The Oilers gave him a chance to play in the NHL when no other team likely would have. He had more poor games than good ones. I think there is potential for him to be a NHL goalie still, maybe he needs to go do what ever Dubnyk did becuase they seem to have similar consistency and confidence issues.

If I'm reading CapFriendly correctly Lundstrom is an RFA this summer. Likely as simple as the Blues needed to move a contract out, the Oilers needed a body to back up Eetu in Bako. The organization will have a chance to look at this kid a few times the next few months but probably will ultimately walk away in summer and bring a different goalie into the fold in Bako with Eetu.

I know some would rather see Brossoit stay down on the farm and continue with the Condors playoff push, but at this stage in the game the way I look at it is that playing big minutes in the AHL to close out the year would be of greater benefit to Laurikainen than they would be to Brossoit at this stage, who IMO is clearly ready to get his feet wet with NHL competition.

If there's one thing that Chiarelli has really improved since he first set foot here, it's the goaltending quality throughout the organization.

I agree and disagree.

A lot of our prospects haven't played that we'll is year down there so they shouldn't be spoon fed ice time.

People complain about our rookies getting too much ice time up here when they can't handle it so why is it any different down there?

The AHL is a development league...the NHL isnt.

They both looked shellshocked here. As has every goaltender we've had since Roli, save for the guy with the S on his chest we have now.

Yes but people say too many minutes that you struggle in is bad for development. So if our guys are struggling, more minutes won't help them.

He seems to have put up really solid numbers in the ECHL while getting shelled.

Might be a decent AHL goalie there.

I wouldnt be surprised to see them shuffle LB back and forth to get him two starts on the odd weekend in Bakersfield and them have him come up and start in Edmonton and be a backup for a game. Then call up one of the Euros to be strictly NHL backup and target practice for a week when LB gets sent down to get starts.

Has the maximum callup rule post deadline been changed? Isn't there a 4? callup maximum?
