Don't get sucked into a thread jack using a former player.

The thing I'm most curious about his Cammalleri's speed in transition on the ice.

Pakarinen is an instant turnover every time the puck comes near him. A defensive specialist wouldn't throw the puck away every time he faces a little bit of pressure.
You do know defense is the act of playing without the puck, correct?

I could be wrong but I think that Desharnais didn't want to return. IIRC in the playoffs he said something about how after the OT goal he started to feel like he was part of the team. I found that to be an odd remark at the time.

Thanks Bryan, I remember something like that as well but thought it was just that some guys take longer to kind of fit in and that was his moment of belonging. Food for thought anyway.

Another way to take the statement is that he felt part of the team in terms of making a significant contribution with that playoff OT goal. It was such a big goal. I did sense he wanted more toi than he would get here and that for him it felt like he wasn't much a part of the team due to limited minutes. Kind of how I read it at the time.

I rather have Kassian on that line. Cammy is suppose to be the shooter anyway.

I'd really like to have a third line that can play 12 or more minutes a night, don't think Pak should be playing that kind of minutes

Agree with this completely. Kassian has more skill than Pak. Much better hands and a better playmaker, would rather see him on that third line with Strome and Cammy.

I agree, but Kassian is REALLY fighting it offensively, plus it's nothing to switch them in game.

Don’t expect much of anything from Cammalleri tonight based on who he’s playing with but it gets his feet wet a little in his first game. I expect he will be moving up eventually in the line up

He's fighting it, but his speed seems to be getting him into areas that are close to chances. Pak I never really see take the puck anywhere.

I kinda feel too for whatever reason Kassian has fallen out of favour with TM. Doesn't seem to have much of a leash at all this year. I know Kassian took a stupid penalty a couple times, but he just doesn't seem to be given the chances he use to get.

I'm less about wanting Kassian in that spot as I am NOT wanting Pakarainen in that spot.

I think I'd rather even play Drake on his off-wing.

Again, they probably want the size on the line. I Pakarinen isn't a top-9 forward, but he's hardly terrible and can easily be replaced in that spot through out the game. Best case is Slepyshev there.

Not sure I would have him out of top 6, but will be more interested to see him on the PP.

Why doesn't Lucic ever get sat out? Cause' he makes to much, so to save face they have to play him.
