The Oilers are very familiar with his dad.

In a weird butterfly effect, that extra point in the standings was the difference between flipping spots with Chicago pre-lottery. Blackhawks won the lottery and got Patrick Kane.

Another anecdote about Patrik, if he had been born one day earlier, he would have been eligible for the 1998 Draft. In that universe, the Sedins more than likely get drafted to different teams.

He was on the roster for the Sens rookie tourney last summer. Can't remember much about his play.

Like he wasn't the best player but he wasn't the worst first overall drafted lol. Sucks he has such a memorable gaff. They didn't even lose the game lol.

I know people come here to post jokes because of his dad but, James isn't a bad player,
prospect, the opposite actually.

Past 2,5 - 3 years he has developed slowly but well, really well in a fact.
Has improved every aspect of his game, also grown taller and gotten stronger.

This young man will make many surprised and eat crow me thinks.

Oh and congrats from your ELC

That was in January, though, not that it matters all that much, but the 3-2 third period GWG by Patrick Thoresen against CGY in the very last game of the season also could be argued as the defining moment of uninentional self-defeat in the Oilers darkest days.

I remember that game; I swear Calgary was trying to lose they were playing so bad in the third period.

I mean he’s got to be pretty high on the list of worst overall #1’s in the modern era.

Only managed 7 seasons in the NHL and best year was 14 goal and 41 points. 455 GP, 64 goals and 188 points.

Daigle had 10 years, 616 GP, 129 goals and 327 points.

I guess maybe he narrowly beats Yakupov who had 6 seasons, 350 GP, 62 goals and 136 points.
