Caggiula was given the opportunity to play on the Oilers top line but in McLellan and Hitchock fashion, gets bumped down after a game or a few shifts....coaching has been just as big a problem as management in terms of developing player confidence and chemistry. Both try new lines for a few games or a few shifts and then keep mixing, that's not how you develop chemistry or give guys a chance to prove they can perform with guys like McDavid and Draisatl. Caggiula was a valuable player, Manning is not so why in God's name would you pick him off the roster to trade for Manning? Tobias Rieder still has zero goals and Khaira is a pylon on skates with no hands, you couldn't have gotten rid of one of those two players instead? It's as if he had no clue what he was seeing on the ice or he was purposely screwing this team knowing he would get canned.

I hate the constant line shuffling by TM and Hitch. Let the players build some chemistry instead of shuffling them around every game.

Chiarelli should be investigated for collusion.

Bob Nicholson during Chia's last 3 disastrous trades:

Line shuffling doesn't just mess with chemistry but it messes with player confidence because each time you get played like a yo-yo going up and down, you don't really know as a player if you are doing well or not, it messes with players heads because then they don't know what they need to do to get playing time and then they probably just say screw it all and give up on the coach. Makes NO sense that Jesse practices with Nugent-Hopkins, starts the game on his line and then after one shift gets bumped to the 3rd line? If anyone has paid close attention to the coaching, it is a HUGE problem with the psyche and development of this team, it isn't all Chiarelli's fault.

I understand changing up the lineup when your pushing for a goal or two in the third and stacking the top line but the shuffling begins within 5 minutes into the game.

Couldn't agree more. McDavid has mentioned it more than a few times, that he likes building chemistry with people and is not a fan of constantly rotating linemates
