Leadership and performance have no age restriction...I've seen 20 years olds that are better leaders than veterans. I've also seen 20 year olds outperform veterans.

Matthews will be arguably one of the best players for the next decade...he's been ****ing awful when they needed him to step up this series.

It's a marathon not a sprint.

I'm by no means a Leaf fan but he's 20 freaking years old. He got shut down by a great team? So what? He'll learn from it. Sometimes you have to lose before you can win. The Bruins are a strong team. Next year Matthews will be better. And hell be better after that... he's nowhere near his prime.

Other than maybe the 2006 Hurricanes, most recent Cup winners until Pittsburgh's repeat last year have had a frustrating playoff loss or two the year before a Cup run.

The Wings lost for years and years... Lemieux didn't even make the playoffs until he was 22...
