I am only cheering for Toronto because I hate Bruins more. But must be hard for Leafs fans. This makes 8 years in a row. Went 12 years before that never made playoffs. Haven't won a Cup in 57 years. Never been to Finals in that time. Only made conference finals twice since '67.

I'd like to see Leafs get on a roll and make Finals. Their fans have to be definition of pain.
Conference finals 4 times and it was times over a 10 year span. I only know this because I was 13-23 years old - peak of fandom and there were 2 iterations of tough playoff built teams. I fully agree though, still not nearly good enough.

If Mathews could have played he would have - also got to assume it's the same thing that hit Nylander. JVR missed some significant time and lost significant weight this year with a stomach flu. Doesn't bode well for game 5 though.

Amazed Boston has been so successful with Pastrnak stuck in neutral.

Shutting down Pastrnak has been the entire Toronto game plan along with focusing on physicality. Impressive the depth has produced!

Overall playoffs Marchand became the Bruins all time goal scoring leader last night.
Not too shabby considering the entire history of great players the Bruins have had in 100 years.

If we're going back 8 years, sure - but it's a completely different team.

8 years ago the Leafs didn't even have this core.
Agree. Seems to me the team from 8-10 years ago was more cohesive and played as a singular unit more than the current iteration which is an awkward mishmash of several highly played individuals. And I feel the team was better coached then. I would actually take that team over the current one

They lost but it's 1 game.

Hopefully Woll starts next game because you're not winning much with .883 goaltending.
He was bad on goal 2, but that one-timer would be a high-danger chance and difficult to save even for a goalie who had moved properly, and JVR could freely screen.

On goal 3, it's a 2-on-0 with Bruins' two best offensive players, and his attempt was pretty good, I thought.

On goal 1, he wasn't great, but JVR is a specialist in tight like that, and had all the time in the world right in front of the net.

I'd say that blaming the goalie is not accurate. From watching most of the game, I'd say that the biggest issue is that the Leafs skaters were lacking a pulse. Compare the two captains, for example. Is Tavares a wax statue? You might not like Marchand but at least he has agency.

How much do you wanna bet that sportsnet will still find away talk about Leafs 4 to 5 times per game after the Leafs are knocked out
It’s not much better with Biz, PK and Chicken Parm on ESPN and TNT. None of those three should be anywhere near an US broadcast. Biz acts like a smitten 13 yr old fan boy watching his favorite team play for the 1st time. They need to go to SN or CBC instead of a US network. Want to grow the game in the US, stop with the unprofessional biased nitwit goof balls on a US broadcast.

Ya you can’t really blame the goalies here

When you have 41 milllion dollars putting up 6 points in 4 games.

And your

Power play is clicking at 7%
