Looked like Willie was fed up with his mates, any chance he’ll be sent packing in the off season?

I watched the presser and Nylander says the team is tight. There is no issue on the bench. That's not verbatim. Also Nylander said he felt fine. He regretted not scoring that one chance.

Keefe was down but said the team is trying hard. He seems to have a cold as well.

Through all of the series played in the modern era, this year probably has the best team the Leafs have assembled and the worst team the Bruins have assembled.

And yet, the story plays out the same.
Kessel and Kadri are somehow more worrisome in the playoffs for the opposing team than Matthews and Mitch, that’s the problem.

Look Toronto needs a healthy Mathews and Nylander here. The offense has to carry this team. Toronto's D is not good enough. Toronto will get cap space especially when Tavaras is gone. Until they have a D that is good enough, hard to win with suspect d in playoffs.

The Leafs aren't that good. How many years are they going to go through this?

They need to rebuild. I'm serious. How many years and they've won all of 1 series? If this was Minnesota with this statistic, people would be calling for them to rebuild.

Boston isn't that good, but they are better than the Leafs. The Leafs stars are not playoff players. Almost all of them seem to get worse in the playoffs. They have major cap problems every year because their players are greedy and request big salaries without taking cuts. They have very little forward depth and their defense is downright mediocre. They rotate project goalies because they can't afford one of the best goalies and they also haven't developed one either. They have no cap space or assets.

This team will only get worse. Blow it up.

A lot of talk about Toronto imploding - but what about a tip of the cap to Marchand?

8pts through 4 games despite being the target of focus. New franchise leader in playoff goals. He's got his club dialed in so far...
Yep.

After game one I kept saying how the Leafs can’t be drawn in by his schtick. They did and he’s been in their heads all along. And he’s scored clutch goals too. A Claude Lemieux like performance in this series.

The doghouse
Sports is full of players with the winning X factor, they just show up when it matters most. The perform under pressure, and they oftentimes find ways to win.

And then sports is full of players who don’t perform well under pressure, and they rarely find ways to win games.

And then most players are in neither category. They don’t have an uncanny knack for winning or losing.

The Leafs seem to have a core of players who just do not perform when it matters, consistently.

NHL needs to do a 3rd party Doctor examination on Matthews “illness” before the Hart is voted on.

That clip of Nylander telling Marner to stop crying is going to eat Marner alive. What an embarrassment. It's all over the net. His peers are going ride him into the ground over that. What a chump.

Did he really say that?

They’ll have to replace Tavares spot with someone else, and Rielly is also post-30 now so he’ll need to diminish in role while also filling out rest of D. It won’t be so simple.
