Now. Maybe next season. I'm finding this signing strange, Burke said something about him not being anywhere near NHL ready for at least another year.

When his junior season is done

The purpose of the Ducks signing him is that they can can call him up to the Ducks or assign him to the AHL to play when his junior season is done. This prolongs his season and gives him a little taste of pro hockey. It's the same thing the Flyers did with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter last year. Colorado did it with Alex Tanguay a few years back. If the player doesn't play any pro hockey, the contract doesn't kick in and it slides ahead a year.
