If we are contenders we should be loading up on experience, not dumping experience for youth.

Turris has loads of playoff experience. He has scored some clutch, clutch goals for us.

Context matters, having Duchene signed an extra year IMO is huge and he is a small but appreciable upgrade over Turris

Giving up the 1st was IMO the only thing that sucked, Bowers was expendable at this point given our prospect depth (Brown White Chlapik) at C

Difference between Turris and Duchene is NOT worth Bowers+1st - that should go without saying.

Turris wouldn't sign 6x6 in Ottawa from what we've heard, so his Nashville signing isn't relevant to analyzing this trade imo

I am fine with giving up Hammond and Bowers.

Hammond is an ahl goalie. Bowers is still a prospect.

The 1st will be a hard pill to swallow though if the Sens don't improve.

That's not bad...

That's terrible. Do you really think the difference between Turris and Duchene is a 1st, a 3rd, and a first round prospect? We paid waaay too much. We should have gotten at least one of the pieces in the deal, but no we just get Duchene. I like Duchene, but not at this price.

Can't edit my post above. But anyway, I can't believe we gave up that much AND Turris signed a super team-friendly deal elsewhere. Not happy with this deal at all.
