Dont know much about 2008, but here is how I rank the other three: Top end 1.2005 2.2006 3.2007 depth 1.2005 2.2007 3.2006
No idea how the two drafts that haven't happened rank, but 2003-2006 is doing pretty well for itself these days, certainly a lot stronger than 1993-1996 and 1985-1988. The best draft period ever was probably 1979-1982 or 1980-1984, which gave the NHL a large bulk of its of its 80s-90s talent. 1988-1991 was also excellent with the influx of Euros for the first time in significant numbers.
From a Russian perspective only and in terms of was actually drafted and not who was availble in the two drafts that already took place (ie Kulemin, Shirokov, Bumagin were all availble in 2005): 2008 2007 2006 2005
Wow, is 2008 going to be that good? Is it safe to say that, overall, 2007 is on par with 2006? (although less top heavy and more depth)
Pretty much what I have been reading/hearing... I don't understand how you can judge 2008 depth so soon...
