Frustration from all the ref nonsense was creeping in.

Over thinking and squeezing sticks leading to mental mistakes. A week off to reset is just what they need.

So I stayed away from the board during the game... partially because I had a little too much fun last night and was a waste of space today.

Anyway... I'm not worried at all. They are 0-2-3 in the last five games and are three points back of first with a game in hand. I would be worried if we were getting blown out... but besides the Caps game (which I'm still mad about the too many men thing) the team has been playing well and is in every game until the end. The five day break couldn't come at a better time. There are definitely some guys nursing some bumps and bruises. They can recharge and come back for another four division games.

Also, the interference call that negated the goal was awful. Palmieri was guided through the crease by Aho..... Aho was then the main reason Halak couldn't get back across the crease to make the save.
The referee emphatically signaled for a goal on the ice... then skated over and declared that the call on the ice was "no goal." REALLY mad about that.

But yeah. I think we should all take a deep breath and look at this season as a whole thus far and come to the conlusion that things are looking PRETTY DAMN GOOD considering where we expected this team to be.

What is happening now should've been happening NEXT SEASON so we're ahead of schedule already.

That bothered me. So did parking Hall in front and not having the puck on his stick. But at the end of the day, they had a chance to win and Hall hit the post instead of the back of the net. Such an annoying game.

I hope we don't need Cory to have a strong second half.

I'd much rather we keep scoring enough. We got some great contributions from bottom 6 guys but you can't expect that continue. We need Palmieri, Zajac, Johansson and I would even add Zacha to pick up the pace in the 2nd half. We need Severson to contribute more and Andy Greene to hold up.

We scored 130 goals in the first half... I am utterly shocked by that number but I don't expect that to be duplicated in the second half... especially as we get into all the tighter division games...but if we can score another 100 we'll be in good shape I think?

Despite the fact we were living on ridiculous pace with a bunch of kids playing way over their heads, we can duplicate the 130 goal pace.

But whatever we think the kids might bring in the second half - we've got to hope that Hall, Palmieri, Zajac (?!), Mojo, and Stafford play their best and pitch in at a pace that they've produced in their career - and then the kids bring the gravy. Boyle, Bratt, and Gibbons' shot % is unsustainable, but they are still playing well.
I think Miles Wood can continue doing what he's doing. Zacha and Nico have to grow bigtime in the 2nd half for us to keep up our scoring.

dude i had so much fun. when hallsy scored the pop from the devils fans was so sick and i had a blast cellying the third and fourth goals with the devils fans around me...

and then it was taken away. (Not directly by the officiating but u get my point)

We're okay now, but things are really gonna get out of control if we come back and lose to Philly on Saturday.

You have Hall having a career year in goals and really not expecting any significant drop from our rookies.

Most rookies hit a wall at 60 games.

I'm not dismissing the possibility, I just think it's ambitious.

Again....Historically, we've done pretty well against Philly and actually...you know...WON GAMES against them unlike the Isles where it doesn't matter whether they suck or don't suck, we still lose to them.
