If he does win it then it will by all likelihood be won with the least powerplay points in NHL history.

McDavid has to put 3 points in the next game for me to be comfortable about him winning the Art Ross

Don't see anyone catching Kucherov but who knows. Malkin is lighting up of late as well.

I think he easily hits 100, probably around 105.

He's shooting the puck more and going for more goals... which is a good sign not only for now but for the future as well. One area he needed more confidence in is his shot and his ability to snipe and once he has that I could see him being a perennial 40+ goal scorer.

Compare his % of power play pts to his total points in his career so far... it's very low at under 25% whereas many top scorers are usually in the range of 30-40% PP pts which means that once this team develops a better PP he'll likely increase his scoring rate as well.

Duh... has no one else been watching? 105 point finish and an Art Ross season wasted by bleepin' Chiarelli

I'd put most of the blame on the coaching staff. This should have been a playoff team as is. I believe that Chiarelli was going to add to the team for a playoff run, but the coaches failed to get the team anywhere near the playoffs. The coaching staff will pay the price for this failure (I hope).

Don't think it's likely, but if he's still within 5 points in Game 82 vs. the Canucks, I wouldn't count him out. Hell, with the pace he's on for goals over the past twenty games, dare we say he might make a run at the Rocket Richard?

He is exactly 1.00 ppg at 5v5 right now, next closest is Marchand at .985, everyone else 5v5 is .800-.850 range

Ya, is 5 vs 5 stats and his points as a percentage of team goals is just sick. If the oilers can get their power play going and surround him with more offence, he will go from 100 points to 120-130 ish points next year.

2 months with Lucic. One of the worse run PP's we have ever seen (seriously, Lucic is on the 1st unit still???). It's damn remarkable that he is still so close.

Hope he can keep it going and McLellan lets him stick with some quick skilled wingers for a while now.

It's just so impressive he is in the race with the PP the Oilers have had and who he played with a lot. Look at those guys up top. 30+ PP points.

It would be incredible for him to get back to back art rosses and 100 point seasons. He is currently on pace for 101 points, so I have no doubt he hits 100. The Art Ross is a bit trickier. He is 1 point behind Malkin and 4 behind Kucherov, but has one game in hand on both of them. I'm going to be optimistic and say he beats them both. That's all I have left to cheer for this season.

100pts all day. Top 2-3 for sure. feed him the biscuit!

McDavid now 2 pts back of Kucherov, 1 game up on Malkin, Kuch with a game in hand to play in an hour. This is a dead heat. McDavid is scoring 1.8 pts/gm over the last 10 while Kuch is scoring 1.5 pts/gm. If each scores at this rate 'till the end of the season it's a tie at 109 pts, ha ha. Gonna make the rest of the season interesting (thank god).

Sigh. Leading the league in EV points by 11 (70 vs next closest 59).

Hope he can pull off the Art Ross again. Guy deserves it.

Now that the chemistry with Nuge and Rattie seems to be really going, I wouldn't bet against him. I already voted yes earlier, but now I'm more confident.

TBL down 2-0 after 20 against Boston (no Kucherov points). We play them tomorrow, both teams will be tired. But maybe McDavid can capitalize? I wouldn't put it past McDavid to tie or even pass Kucherov in points by the end of tomorrow's game.

Especially after what Connor did to them last time out, I could see it being an ugly, rope-and-a-dope trap fest.

Heck, with a scoring title on the line, I wouldn't be surprised if both sides played 3-on-1 defense whenever either player stepped on the ice.
