A couple of years ago the MLB formally brought the negro league records into their official record book. Records from both MLB and the individual negro league get combined.
I know the NHL has no intention of doing so with the other major leagues, but surely someone has gone and done it themselves.
You can't find consolidated records of the NHA and NHL despite being the same league, let alone PCHA/WCHL and WHA.
It's frustrating doing research for the pre merger project. NHA isn't even on hockey reference. WHA is but nothing is consolidated. There's no easy way to see who has most NHL/WHA points combined all time.
Newsy Lalonde officially lead the NHL in points twice, but he more realistically did it four times.
