Would we be better off with regional leagues to cut down costs? Maybe?

Are we able to isolate those regions and have, for lack of a better word, density of a sustainable number of teams in those regions? So far, Hell no.

Is that what you mean?

Or do you want more than just AA "in name only"? (chuckle-snort) By that, I mean somehow coercing NHL teams to front the cost of more players.

Or do you want Fort Wayne to be the CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE like it was in a previous league?

Does the roster rules & affiliations need to change in the echl so there is a little more roster stability for everyone in the echl & not have a echl player called up only to sit

For example have the echl active roster at 20 & 2 reserve yr round & 5 skaters & one goalie on what we call the 2way roster Exception where they don’t count against the current roster & players on 2way deals get paid by the nhl team & echl are only responsible for paying their own players & they have a limit amount on days they can be on call up during the season

Most players are not willing to hang around with an ECHL team if they aren't playing. With your (up to) 27 man roster, there will be a lot of players scratched, and they will end up asking to be released or traded. Also, players are never going to agree to a system where their opportunity for advancement is limited. If they don't have the ability to take a callup and potentially earn an AHL contract there is much less incentive to play in this league, and I can't see the players association agreeing to it.

You think too much like a fan, Kometsman. You are underestimating the value of a call-up to the individual player, and overestimating the importance of "roster stability" for the ECHL. Even if a call-up "sits" he has an opportunity to impress a coaching staff in the higher league through his on-ice practice habits & his off-ice attitude. If the League wants to be a "development league," they have to send up the "sitters" on occasion and give other players a chance to get some playing time in the E.
