Thought it would be fun to run a bragging rights competition to see which of us can most accurately predict the standings in each of the four divisions.

Points will be awarded as follows:

5 Points for each correct Division Winner
3 Points for each playoff team correctly chosen (denote your wild card selections w/*)
1 Point for each Non-Playoff Team correctly chosen.

3 Bonus Points can be earned for correctly denoting the President's Trophy Winner (P)
3 Bonus Points can be earned for correctly denoting which club will finish 31st (L)

Posts must be made by October 4 at 7:00pm. Posts may be edited up until that point but not after. I will tally the standings after CBJ Game #41 and then again at the end of the season. Good Luck!

*If the Jackets/whoever get Duchene, I reserve the right to move that team up or down depending on the return. Same for Colorado

CBJWennberg, I agree with you that we will probably be a wild card team. I think that we will play extremely good all season, but the Metro will just be so tough that it will be a toss up..

I don't think we will win 16 games straight which is why we will be a wildcard team.

I think it's a toss up between us, Ottawa, Boston, NYI, and philly for that final spot

I'll eat my hat if Philly tops the Jackets in the standings. Which part of their lineup do you expect to be better than the Jackets?

(I will of course somehow find a digestible hat if it comes to that).

Top end talent only, but they have a young defense and can score goals. Biggest question is goaltending

That would require that Philly have on defense the same sort of epic-level coming out party Toronto had with forwards this past season. Such things are a mite unlikely.

I don't really feel like participating in the scope of the request. I only wish to discuss the Jackets. I have this feeling that the Jackets will have a difficult time replicating their results and I think they will end up back in the mix for a wildcard. I'm not convinced will we make another trip into the playoffs.

At lot of this, to me, as to do with the performance of the younger players and what Bob does. I don't think our veterans can be counted on and, at some point, the younger players are going to need to take over this team. The player that might end up being the most important could end up being Korp.

Good luck to the Jackets and I look forward to watching the streams on DirectTV Now. I'm supposed to get RSN coverage, so we'll see what happens.
