That is the great thing about hockey. Only basketball comes even close to being a global game. Almost all the NFL and MLB players are from the United States.

There are plenty of good MLB position players from other countries, such as Puerto Rico, Japan, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Cuba, etc. Not many really good pitchers though.
