Rags downed in the garden

Bad start aside, that's a feel good win for the Devils

Mojo has 4 points in 5 games, and that's counting tonight, where he barely even played. If you can even count this as a game. Cam Janssen sometimes played longer. Only 4 minutes and 46 seconds or something like that.

If you wanna beat him up over tonight's game, that's fine. He was brought in to help with scoring though, and he's been providing it.

You know, Zacha had those two goals in Buffalo... but I'm still not sold on him being the 1C.

He is still learning, tonight was a learning experience for him. A tough one, but sometimes you need a slap across the head. I think he has been playing pretty well, but tonight was now the second lazy offensive zone penalty he has taken in two nights. You deserve a sit for that.

That's 'cause the Yankee fans are still watching baseball. Wait until their team gets eliminated.

THEN the knuckleheads will start.
Maybe they priced the assholes out of the Garden. I paid $125 to sit way up at the top.

Missed the W, doesn't seem like the best of games though. Disappointed to see MoJo and Zacha get benched, but it's a learning experience. They'll be fine in the long run. Maybe Zacha isn't ready to be the #1 center. I don't know, I haven't watched the last few games. But as good as Zacha may be defensively perhaps he's not ready to carry that load as well as being expected to provide 1st line offense. That's fine and I think that'll come. Even if it doesn't I'm confident one of him or Nico can become our #1 center in the next few years.

Nice to see Butcher get another few points though and Stafford get his first goal with us! I'll have to watch the replays tomorrow. Also, I love Kinkaid. I've said it for a few years but I think he has starters' potential, maybe not a grade A starter but a starter nonetheless. Glad he had a good game tonight, hope Hynes gives Schnieder some rest here and there and plays Kinkaid.

I didn't think Zacha played too bad before his benching today but it was limited time. I think he should get a longer leash at 1C. I don't want Nico getting those tough match ups. Rico has been good but him and Hall have not meshed at all in the past.

I think with Zacha it was more the dumb penalties. That careless high stick that cost us against Washington and he took another stupid offensive zone penalty in this one.

I don't think he's played particularly good but I also think benching him that much was dumb.

And what does it say about the coaches decision to scratch Noesen for Stafford then bench Hayes for half the game?

I don't know, maybe Hayes was the one that should have been scratched and Hynes made a dopey decision?

I did like the minutes for the Defense:
1 Greene 25:44. (probably too much)
2 Severson 21:05
3 Santini 20:29
4 Moore 17:56
5 Lovey 15:54
6 Butcher 14:49

Definitely like those D minutes. Too much for Greene, but there isn't really anyone else to take those minutes until Butcher can handle more ice time. Maybe Mueller could take an extra two minutes on top of what Lovejoy played.

Our top D are playing well though, and Butcher is looking good too. That is great news since we have so much riding on Severson, Santini, and Butcher being legit.
