It was a high flying offensive show that led the New Jersey Devils to the top of the Eastern Conference early in the 2005 season. Last night, it was goaltending that gave them the best record in the entire league. Kevin Weekes turned aside all 27 shots that he faced in shutting out Western Conference power the St. Louis Blues. Patrice Brisebois scored on the powerplay just over two minutes into the game, and that would be the last score of the game. The Devils played a disciplined game, only giving the Blues 1 powerplay opportunity, which was wiped out by a Zdeno Chara penaly :38 in.

The Devils will be off Saturday night, then play in Vancouver Sunday night before returning home for another showdown with a Western Conference team, this time with the league's highest scoring team, the Mighty Ducks.
