Zacha Tonight:
4 shots
7 scoring chances
17:00 TOI, 4 on PP
+6 Attempts at evens (tied for team lead)
+15 Attempts all situations
killed both penalties

Buuuut 0 points. Clearly the only stat that matters.

Hes a Bum. bust. send him down. Terrible player.

Hey congrats he gets an A for effort. But an F for results. In a result driven league and in a game where we got shut out!!!!!!!!!!!! Would’ve been a hell of a time for him to score

I know Zacha hasn't been good enough, but does anyone really think if he was in Zajac's spot that he would still score less than Zajac has this year?

I don't think he would....

He's already got a slightly higher PPG than him right now.

i didnt realize this team was so close to the 2012 team.... or the amazing devils cup winning teams. what are we talking about here? at best this was going to be a cinderella story. i dunno who everyone is around here ive only been around for this season. ive never 'lurked' and would only come to hfboards when some big hockey news went down. ok, so i guess i lurked a little but just for news. maybe this is how you guys wanna go about things so whatever, ill stay out of it. but i see blatant negativity more than constructive criticism. talk about the team all you want but stop acting like this is a team filled with stars. its a rebuild way ahead of its years. weve seen what they can do this year and have no reason to think it cant click again in a moment. please dont take it the wrong way, from an outsider i just wonder where some posters allegiance lies. feels like some people are just here to rile others up, are very good at it and disguising themselves. whatever, just gotta hope for the best. this team was picked to do nothing in the offseason. love to see how we play the wings with a full roster. ours was depleted tonight and thats the only fault i see so far. they need everyone at this point. someone goes down and we cant really count on guys like hayes. its a fine line this season. the future looks bright tho. something tells me we wont be a bottom 5 cap team much longer. atleast if they wanna win.

Just get well soon, Taylor. Make sure that back is strong, you’re gonna need to carry the whole damn team to the postseason.

Which says more about Zajac than Zacha tbh

Nico didn't score tonight either. Send that bum to Bingo.
Zacha x 2.5 = Nico points....think about that for a second.. the 18 year old rookie who might not be big enough or strong enough to play in the league back in July is out producing Zacha by 2.5X

Sure would have. Would have also been nice for mrazek to cough up a juicy rebound or 2 all night. or his defensemen to not block shots right in front. Mrazek was really on. He wasnt giving space to shoot on anyone, his positioning was great. its not like PZ was missing empty nets. my point was the kid did exactly what you want, he got the puck on net every chance he could

Yeah Cory really needs to start scoring goals :P

I mean there are certainly games he deserves ripping but even if any of the goals were bad tonight, who cares? They still would have lost 2-0 then instead of 3-0, big deal.

of course it is. Just because it doesnt fit the timeline you want, doesnt mean he isnt developing.
What heck does that mean? Player development is about improvement. He has not improved much if at all. He has not developed, as you claim. Now, maybe he will at some point but it is certainly a red flag that he hasn’t so far.

It’s amazing to me how hope springs eternal for some posters on this board regarding prospects, especially first rounders. Who was the last forward prospect we had that failed to make an impact within their first two seasons with substantial playing time but then suddenly met expectations down the road? This isn’t the the NHL from twenty years ago, generally speaking if a forward is not showing progress across their first 2-3 seasons there’s not a lot to hope for.

After letting 21 goals in 5 games and not having won a game in almost a month, maybe he should come out and play how Mrazek did?

Maybe not letting up a goal 6 minutes into the first would change how the game was played? I mean they wouldn't have to play catch up and then have bigger defensive breakdowns like they did because they were going all out trying to tie it up and then come back.

He hasn't given us a timely save in almost a month.

Yea, the team hasn't scored, but for the most part, this team has scored its way out of his shit play or at least has tried to make up for it at times. It's time for him to finally play elite and steal the team a game instead of shitting the bed for his 6th personal loss.

The rebound on the first goal was poor, but this was still one of the better goaltending performances of the last month. Appleby's on Saturday was sadly the best we've seen in a month.

YES

In capital letters, it's time to be concerned.

A couple big wins in the next two games can turn the heat off though. At least 3 out of 4 points. 2 points is better than nothing, but we're in trouble if we get 1 or 0. Hypothetically, if we get 0 points in the 2 games before the break, we're on pace for 96 points, which is what you need to probably make the playoffs. Maybe 94 will suffice, but assume 95 just to be on the safe side.

I agree with this sentiment.

Devils need to get 2 points FAST.

I don’t even see Greene saying much. He probably made the kids warm milk, mixed some Ovaltine for Boyle, and played kumbaya and said they’ll need to regroup.

He is playing a LOT better than he did earlier in the season.

If you deny this, you are just not being fair or aren't watching.

and Mark Scheiefele is a good example of what you asked about. Niederreiter, Kesler too.

The veterans are the worst players on the team.
If I was any one of the young guys this would actually piss me off. I’d be thinking “why the f*** am I being lectured to by slug footed old men who haven’t produced jack shot and are getting paid 5x as much as I am while we have been he knew carrying this team to where it is?”
